There's less emotional weight to fucking Nanao than Mai. With Mai, there's years of build up of tension from the time they kissed to now which simply isn't there with Nanao where the transition to them fucking happened after much less time and much more smoothly.
Also, she and Nanao have fucked before and it's so much easier to be handsy with someone you've already fucked than with someone you want to fuck, but haven't yet.
Probably as mentioned earlier in this thread. Asumi might not know what she wants out of her relationship with Mai, hence the hesitation. Is she spending time with Mai as friends? As a client to a professional? Is she finally returning Mai's feelings after all these years? Does Mai even mean that all the way back then? And Mai is just as conflicted.
With everyone else, she can have the mindset of she's the client, they're the escorts and she's exchanging money for the sex. It's just a transaction. Though, Serina's bonus after the date blurs that line a little bit.
With Nanao, it's pretty clear cut and defined. Nanao proposed that they're friends with benefits aka sex buddies and there's no obligations for any romantic intents in terms of a long term partnership. So in that way, there's no thoughts involved, no second guessing the other person's aims or wants. They've defined their relationship as they're friends on the streets, and under the sheets.
i'm in the camp of "got to see asumi and nanao fuck unrelentingly for several chapters so i dont really care what happens at this point." maybe by 2027 her and mai will get past kissing but if nanao isn't involved in some way it doesn't concern me 
Along with what the others said, Nanao explicitly asked for a date and was clear about wanting sex when they first did it, and Mai is being shy due to her own hangups. And Asumi doesn't want to push at her because she's hyper aware of not treating her as an easy lay just because she's a sex worker.

It's not even romance, it's artificial drama. A proper romance would have them actually have sex, and really focus on their first act of love-making.
After all Asumi's been through, after how comfortable she's come with having casual sex, after how long and how desperately she's been searching for Mai, there's no reason she should be pussyfooting around so much or feeling so insecure about having sex with her. And it's not like she's naíve either. She knows Mai is comfortable having sex with girls. She knows Mai knows exactly what inviting someone to a hotel means and what is expected. She knows that Mai's trying to initiate sex. She's not some clueless MC who couldn't see a signal even if it was flashed in bright neon, she's just refusing to go to the next step for seemingly no reason at all.
I’ve reread this chapter a couple times after reading the comments and I’m not sure exactly what’s happening. Is anyone else getting the vibe that Asumi just isn’t feeling a romantic or sexual spark with Mai? That’s how I interpreted the final page. It’s just like when they were kids and they kissed and she thought it was “plain.” That would be a fitting way to end the story: she finds Mai and doesn’t have a connection with her and is now free to have a real relationship with Nanao. If that’s the case this could be the final volume.
Most of the chapter is from Mai’s POV. We’re seeing that they’re actually not that compatible. Asumi likes reptiles, Mai doesn’t. Asumi is making Mai’s heart beat but we don’t see any heart sounds from Asumi. Just a flushed face the same way she gets when Ouka hits on her. Mai is definitely clear on her intentions with Asumi: holding her hand, the compliments, the hotel, asking to kiss her. So this can’t be Asumi misreading signals.
Yes the other explanations work too: Ouka getting in her head, Asumi wanting to take it slow because this is someone she wants a real relationship with, etc. We’ll see.
