wym no fanservice in Ika Musume until the last arc? That series always had fanservice but just as the background/ not focused on. This series simply turns the focus to fanservice instead.
That said there's this thing Ika had that Fushiken lacks, the presence of more male characters. I know Fushiken is a harem series so male characters aren't exactly needed, but D-Frag! is a good example of getting a good balance in male and female characters while still focusing on the harem stuff.

Also I must've had read too many "literature" because I saw where this chapter was heading the moment Nonoka mentioned soft-shelled turtle
