The bandit attack is dumb as f*ck (a few bandits without any armors and a some hatchet against armored knights and guards? Either it's some planified thing - diversion? - or they are stupid, a bandit group should have a lookout who say them who's incoming and a fully armed noble caravan...)

Such a problematic ML - it's clear he doesn't see others (let alone servants) on his level. Our MC is only standing out because she's smart and can write. It's like he's intrigued by her mystery past and not her as a person. Until he has his character development arc (it's coming, right...?) it's still going to be a problematic love story for me. I get a lot of Mr. Christian Gray vibes from him.
