Huh…a Cent? I thought he’s also from the WW2 era as Kojiro.
then you remember that the Type 90 has no armor, so all Curtis needs is one good hit from his Centurion fleet to disable Jo’s single Type 90.
...No. Type 90 has Leopard 2 levels of composite armor. It's actually a fairly well-armored tank, considering.
The newer Type 10, on the other hand... Is much less armored - especially on the sides of the hull and turret. It's even vulnerable to 25/30mm autocannon fire (frontally, it still has composite armor capable of handling HEAT rounds and stuff, but I wouldn't want to be in one getting shot at frontally with modern APFSDS rounds). Then again, the Type 10 is meant to be that less armored because it had to be lighter as Japan's new MBT answer (previously handled by things like the Type 74, which is being phased out entirely this year) to stuff like island defense where a heavier MBT wouldn't be viable with the terrain and bridges there due to its weight. To give you an idea, the Type 10 weighs just a bit more than a T-72, and we're talking about the original T-72, not the later models with tons of armor and upgrades and ERA plastered everywhere. Even still, with a Type 10, the Centurion with the ammunition he has access to isn't a threat.
The very first Centurions were delivered to Europe in May 1945 (yes, after the war ended) and thus would be at the VERY cut off of WWII tech that he likely could bring with him.
Meaning no APDS/APFSDS rounds. Because they wouldn't have been developed until decades later. APDS came online in the early 1960s. APFSDS was in the 1970s or so.
Even HEAT would be years off. I think he'd have access to HESH rounds? And HESH is going to do fuck-all to a Type 90, realistically.
