I get bro just wants to do pretend and be his loner self, but he does make shit so needlessly complicated, lol. No point in killing time elsewhere when you already have someone willing to kill time with you, moreso someone you're partnered with to fool your mom. On the off chance you ever bump into her outside, better to be with her so you don't have to make up dumb excuses.

this mc is kind of an arse... there better be a good reason Izumi is into him so much that hasn't been said yet, cause no woman, esp one this beautiful, would ever show this much interest in someone who isn't interested in them =0\....

I don't get the mentality either..I'm an introvert and a loner myself but I wouldn't go so far as to purposefully turn down any invite I receive, especially in this case. If I can't go home right this second and I need to kill a few hours, what's the harm in doing it with someone else? It's just 1 other person, just sit around with her and talk or take a nap or something lol how hard is that?
Then again, this guy seems to have negative self confidence, mine isn't particularly high but it's not low enough that my immediate thought is that anyone that approaches me is doing so with nefarious intent.

don't think the guy is alone by choice. most people who are turn out fine and not whatever he became. so involuntarily friendless. and someone in the previous chapter said he probably acts this way as a form of self defense. which, knowing how middle and high school can be, I don't blame him. and then he's just never grown out of it.

also not all loners/introverts are built equal. some never pick up on basic social skills. he genuinely wants as little to do with her as possible. I liken it to how some introverts/loners will say they intentionally avoid walking by someone they know to avoid starting a conversation. he won't go out of his way to be considerate if it means spending more time with her. which imo, fairs.
like, he wants to go and be by himself, why can't he? just because she invites him doesn't mean he's obligated to accept.

Eh, I disagree. I don't think it's about obligation, more like, what reason do you have to turn her down? You're already acquaintances, and you're gonna blow the time eating shit anyways, what harm is there? It would be one thing if he hated her but clearly that's not the case, he's just socially awkward especially around women and he's kinda a dick in general. He did end up going with her anyways lmao.

to want to be alone? to not want to deal with the social anxiety that comes with spending time with a woman? there is actually a lot of mental anguish involved for someone like him.

and I mean yeah for the sake of the story and plot moving forward, they had him go with her.

his initial plan was to break this thing off on the first date. then he didn't even want to pretend to go on a date, he just wanted to give her the tickets and then he'd dip. For the sake of the plot, she forces him to go with her. That's 2 occasions where he's shown he wants nothing to do with her. After the movie, he's fine with going off on his own. The plan was never to spend time with her. Yet again, she keeps insisting despite him showing and telling her he wants to be done with her.

Even if you don't hate someone, that doesn't mean you have to hang out with them. One doesn't even need a "reason" to decline someone's invitation. If they don't want to go with you, they don't want to go with you. It's really that simple.

This chick is just literally dragging the plot forward. People are right to question her motives because this isn't realistic as it is. If someone has shown more than once that they don’t want to hang out, why would you insist and force them to?
