I kinda annoy that they smile at the last panel. Smile happy go lucky like all the sh*ts in previous chapter have been solve or something:huh:.
Or I'm just dumb and not understand what the author intends here.:nyoron:

I dunno why people are freaking out so much, this doesn't seem egregious by romcom standards.
Plz Dont be gey me no like
Girl on girl 👍
Boy on girl 👍
Boy on boy 👎
It seems you've accidentally switched "boy on boy" and "girl on girl". Don't worry though, we all make mistakes sometimes.

Thank you much for giving us the gift of this TL, despite the fact the author keeps yanking our chain. Surprised it didn't have a note at the end saying "This chapter officially approved [paid for] by the Kyoto Tourism Board". 😏

I just hope this isn't going to become a trend, of authors thinking that the Okinawa manga is popular because of (vs "in spite of") getting crammed full of chamber-of-commerce fluffery…

And it's not particularly endearing for folks to respond with "Hurhur, I'm so superior to these noobs who say they dislike this chapter". 🙃
It's not "superior" to know you're being stalled. Don't know what the creator is thinking, but it's probably some editor's advice to stretch the story out, and yes, it's annoying.

Where's the idea that the manga is ending coming from? Also why is the translator talking about people dropping, because the mom interrupted?
Because the conversation that they were about to have has been avoided for like 3 chapters and its a monthly release, so its kinda just a dick tease to end it like they did last time and leave everyone hoping for some resolution and then pull the rug under us. Why keep up with the manga if itll just be chapters like this that serve zero purpose other than to edge us.

Im not dropping it yet but If chap 23 doesnt at least start to resolve this then I probably will.

I would drop other mangas first before this one. Because despite this being not a good situation, it still fits into the story very well imo

Still better than the titular character dropping off the face of the earth in Yankee JK Kuzuhana, which is still better than the monkeys from Hajimete no Gal, which is still better than literally everything in Kanokari, etc. etc.

I miss when the bottom of the romcom progress barrel was, like, Akutsu-san.

It's been months since I was current and I may have forgotten the pacing of the earlier stretches, but was Akutsu-san ever the bottom of the romcom progress barrel?

I remember it taking noticeably longer to get to a proper confession than the other stuff I was reading at the time, which is why it sticks in my head. Maybe there was other complete progress-less slop at the time, but if there was, I wasn't reading it.

I really love the extra effort you guys take to find the rough location of where the characters went.

Lastly, why is everybody getting so frustrated. Their misunderstanding is similar to How I attended an all guy mixer where they are fumbling around while trying closing the gap.

This isn't them fumbling around. This is them being actively separated with other characters preventing them from talking to one another.

And it happened twice in a single half-chapter, and the second time by the character who claims to be a friend, but seems to still outright dislike Sorata and has undermined Miyuki as much as she's helped her.

They've been "fumbling" since before the Kyoto trip. Ayano brought things to a head by getting into Sorata's brain and convincing him to confront Miyuki about returning to Kyoto...which should have been the moment they both fought it out over what they really want from this relationship and what they mean to one another.
Instead, Miyuki went "oh, you want me to leave school and come back? Okay bet" and she just walked off, then mom told them to stop talking and go to bed, and then Merry said "nah the engaged couple doesn't get to spend time together in Kyoto, I'm gonna split you up even though I know there are things you need to sort through".

And that's basically volume 4, into volume 5, with no resolution on any of the problems present and only more added on.

It does become a bit of a slog after awhile, when no items are crossed off the To-Do List and it's because the supporting cast is actively interfering in the lives of those they claim to care about.

its really cool that you enjoy seeing boys kiss and all - me too frfr - and were all happy for you, but your take is just as homophobic and dumb as the dumb homophobic take you responded to

This might be "better" than historical precedent for romcom manga, but judging it that way is just giving the author a free pass to not be critical about the merits of their own work. Just because it's 'less bad' than something else, doesn't mean it's good or acceptable.
I never even said it's good or acceptable, nor did I ever say to give the author a free pass and not be critical. I just said people were overdoing it, and I stand by that. I don't think this is a half chapter and the arc isn't even done yet. There is still a chance of a payout that necessitates the stalling. I even said I don't think there WILL be, but that the author should at least be given the benefit of the doubt and the shit losing saved until the author has had their chance.
And to make it clear, I don't like this either. I also think it feels like pointless stalling for the sake of it, something I have never liked. However, I am both used to it enough to not react with more than a weary sigh, outside of series that I have extraordinary expectations for, and have seen examples of authors effectively turning around what appeared to be wheel spinning into action at the last moment.
