Yeah, if it ends with volume 5, then I'll just be along for the ride.
Which means that if there ends up being a volume 6 then I'm going to be sorely frustrated with the author haha
Because if this chapter is any indication, the author could just milk this nonsense for as long as they want. The fact that the mom showed up and cut off any conversation between the two of them feels like a major asspull; they should have turned around and said "we need to discuss something" and actually have their big moment right then and there, whatever the schedule the next day.
So the fact that Miyuki just ran off......yeah, I find it harder and harder to care about where she stands in this. Sorata has done what he could, with the information he's been given (including the malicious variety from Ayano), and the fact that Miyuki has decided to just hit "pause" on the problem between them reduces my sympathy for her. The ball's in her court at this point--she wants to have a dialogue, so she needs to actually step up if this matters at all to her.
I will say this -- Merry is a monster, correct. I find her less and less enjoyable as a character as the story goes on, and even if I previously stated that her backstory at least gives some context to the way she is, the fact she continues to be lowkey shitty to Sorata when she should identify with him more than most just makes me hope she falls in the river at some point.
I guess I'll keep reading. It's not unsalvagable, but......yeah.
But thanks for the TL. I quasi-agree with that one note: the two boys should just have their own gay relationship, and to hell with the girls.
