Eh, it was fine thematically. But Fujimoto was really getting burnt out on writing and drawing the manga, so we got to a point where he just went “okay we’re doing the ending now” and that was it.

Sounds kinda similar to Fire Punch.

Its been nearly 2 years for me when i started reading manga. the first manga i read was Komi Can't Communicate when it was very close to the end, so i hope atleast just like komi we will get an extra chapter showing us what they do at the end. but like all good things, it must come to an end. im thankful to the people who translated this series for the past 7- 8 years. see yall in the final chapters.

Man this chapter had me reminiscing on 8th grade graduation.. the way everyone is talking with a "final" tone while acting like it's fine. Totally was with ichikawa on the trying not to cry part, it all just feels like you're loosing the people forever and this captured it perfectly.

Also thank god he didn't do the pinky promise that was such a flag being put up for a time skip with them separated but happy lol. I get that the theme is they both grew as characters to be independent and self confident, like when ichikawa told anna even without her he'd still enjoy school, but no need to pretend he'd still be able to be as happy even after breaking up. Amazing! Don't want this to end...

Speaking of peak moments, I'm calling it now that Yamada ain't gonna come close to top any of these moments initiated by Kyo in the final 3 chapters.
