The cult type organization was doing experiments on women to see if they can give birth to a "complete" servant of Solomon (essentially what they call demon lords, like that one Angie killed in the cave). Satie joined up with them of her own will while trying to research new magic for restoring Bel's lost leg. After doing some research with the cult, she ended up doing the pregnancy thing to herself and giving birth to the only "complete" one, which was Angie.

Heres the rundown of this arc with Kasim
At Angeline's reward ceremony, the royal prince appears and gains an interest in Angeline.
He orders the arrogant 2nd son of the noble family to instigate a fight between Angeline and Kasim.
Noble son tries goading Angeline to fight, but Angeline refuses stating how an adventur's strength shouldn't be used on such petty squabbles.
The head of the noble family respects Angeline's point of view, and she takes the opportunity to say how great Belgrieve is for teaching her.

Noble son decides to catch Angeline when she's about to leave, and forces her to fight Kasim.
Kasim is fed up with life and fights Angeline hoping that she'll just kill him, his killing intent goes super intense.

Noble son talks about how after he'll take out the father she's so proud of, and Angeline responds with
"Ha! You think you can take on the Red Ogre Belgreive?!"

This instantly nabs Kasim's attention, his killing intent instantly vanishes as he quickly questions Angeline and learns that she's Belgrieve's daughter.
Kasim is absolutely elated that Belgrieve is alive and doing well.

Noble son: "Kasim what the hell are you doing?! Fight already-"

Kasim: "STFU DUMBASS"

*Kasim blows him the hell away team rocket style with a huge wind spell

Then Kasim decides to go with Angeline back to Orphen and reunites with Belgreive.

They all stay in Orphen for the winter as Bell uses guild resources to try to find clues on Percival and Satie.
Once spring comes around, they all go back to Tunera together.

No more Bell and Angeline separation, they basically spend the rest of the series together.

What I remember about this arc is that the day is saved because Angie won't shut up about her father and it's so in character at this point it just works beautifully. Otherwise there'd be no way Kasim would've made the connection as they aren't biologically related and he never knew his bud that left without telling anyone adopted a daughter. F'ng love it.

The end warning really can't be emphasized enough. If you have a group of friends, actually good friends, please don't ever see yourself as a burden and disappear on them. Like Kasim really isn't talking about Bel, but let's be honest it was Bel's fault. It's completely understandable, but the guy leaving the group split them up based on what we learn in this chapter. And the joy they had adventuring as friends probably was never the same. Even for the ones who "succeeded" on their own just judging by Kasim.

Yeah, the rest of Bel's party really went off the rails over the years after he left. Another commentor in this thread explains a little more about Satie's actions/motivations. Her stuff is pretty wild, but overall things come together pretty well as the story progresses and he meets up with the other members and works things out.

Byakku is pretty much just like Maria; makes me wonder if its going to be one of those things where Millie starts to like Byakku because it subconsciously reminds her of her master. I also thought Marie seeing herself in Byakku's behavior was pretty funny as well =03,.
