@matt619 keep in mind that her husband/reiji's father(?) was also heavily abusive towards the two of them, and that the husband only disappeared when he started only abusing Reiji. Not pardoning murder by a long shot, but she didn't suddenly decide her husband had to disappear either.

Also, still not convinced that Reiji is the biological son of the husband. The chapter where they talk about Reiji's dad I think has some text panels where the dad mentions Reiji and something along the lines of "him not being his."
