You're pretty much spot on Fumi making Souta dependent on her. Even looking at his prospects for the future they aren't exactly looking bright. He's basically dropped out of school and as you said isn't the smartest of kids plus he has no real practical job skills (he can stuff gacha toys pretty fast so maybe that counts as something), plus he basically has no experience actually dealing with money and finances because of Fumi and his social life consists of a psycho Yandere who turned his entire class against him and Haru.
He basically has no out from his mother's influence even when he gets older. As of now it doesn't look like he's making it to high school let alone a university, and I doubt as he is he could find a job that would pay enough to actually let him be able to live independently. As things stand he's basically stuck under Fumi's thumb for a very long time possibly even until adulthood or longer.

I find reasonable this is going the Chi no Wadachi route. The latter is technically on its climax and is about to hit a closure in 5 chapters (bc of the tankoubon).

@Raknasuu authresses might go the extra suffering and make either Yuri or his bullies find him. If the latter find him first, he's in for a massive beatdown and brutalization of his cute body.

The teacher is a big possibility. I doubt he's been written off the manga just yet and IMO he should get at least 1 more chance to redeem himself and get our boy Souta out of his hellish situation.
Another spicy encounter that could happen could be him running into Yuri. I can't even imagine what kind of shenanigans would go down if that meeting occurred.

It's hard to feel anything for Haru seeing how MC is litteraly being imprisoned and abused.

I hope this ends fast. I can't handle all this misery.

@LordTrollbias If he met Yuri it might actually lead to her redemption, she might go to the teacher after seeing Souta like that. Of course her telling the class what she has seen is also a possibility. We'll have to see where author is going to take us.

@WhisCalifa69 Oh no, I didn't mean like they find out in this chapter that he's forced to wear his mom's clothes, but that Yuri ends up finding out through some means that the person she loves is in an abusive household as a means of contending with her own world view and as a realization of what her actions have caused.

Hell, I think if Yuri found out where he lived and came to his house only to be lambasted by his mother as another woman trying to take her son away from her, then it could lead to some interesting and well-earned drama as she essentially has some kind of redemption arc in her own right

@LordTrollbias I think there is a theme that everyone in Souta's life is trying to control him, with the exception of Haru, which is what attracts him to her. It's very interesting in that sense

Exactly my feelings right about now. I'm surprised how upsetting this is to read. I'd just like to imagine abuse like this gets caught as soon as possible, but sadly that's not the case sometimes. An actual adult needs to intervene eventually and I don't think it should be Haru who does it.

Now that Souta begun to question what his mom's actually doing, i wonder how long it'll be till the whole truth's revealed...and how he will react when that happens. Maybe it'll happen in the next few chapters, maybe rather than someone catching him outside like that it'll be him who sees something

@Mangagirl07 it makes sense with her trauma against "men". By keeping and smothering him, his emotional maturity will be halted or either destroyed. She just wants him to be her ideal man... or i should say, her ideal manchild.

Besides, nip concept for "purity" is more akin to "innocence/naivete". That only reinforces the idea of Fumi wanting him to be a manchild, bc her "ideal man" should have a childlike innocence.

Well,hope teacher finds him first. Because if it's Yuri, Fumi or his bullies...

Second guessing, @LordTrollbias, @Tamerlane, @DarknessAssassin, @GuitarLegend, @MrMcNasty what if Haru finds him first? I know he is assuming she's gonna laugh at him, but what if she becomes worried sick instead and attempts to hide him into her house? I know she won't think he's the prostitute, as she knows he is too much of a coward to actually sell himself.

I just want Souta and Haru to be 18 and go to another city, never seeing their family again.

Especially Souta. He is probably veeeery close to the breaking point (killing himself) , his only light was Haru, and with this chapter...well...
I hope she is here.

@Siquall i think we might reach the breaking point for Souta soon. He just started to question himself about his mom.

What worries me right now is that Igarashi returned to the tracks. If the next chapter has Fumi sex scenes and Yuri on it, then it's 99% possible Igarashi is just a nickname for Takasaki-papa.

If Souta's butcherer is also the one to deliver to him the bad news about his mom, the shock might be high enough to make him fall under Yuri's claws again, and this time, she won't be that forgiving, but she might go full Flowers of Evil's Saeki on him.
