Actually looks a innocent story that might with depressive undertones. It really is kind of good.

Wow..... so much kids that unable to stomach a drama in the first part of story. Chill bro, it's just the opening part.

I guess DomeKano destroy their mentality and making them a drama tag haters and rate this good (atm) manga 1/10

Of course, if this story drags too long and the plot is drifting too far, I might join to low rate this manga, but not 1/10

@Lolipop_Candy not only kids mentally scarred with DnK, but also mentally damaged boys who think everything that has smut in the contents' tag, merciless and cruel people contributing into the world building and prostitution or rental services in the summary instantly means an edgy story with relentless and painful NTR as a bonus.

Luckily, this manga doesn't look to be the type that lasts beyond 2 years (8 tankoubons). It's very direct with its premise (can love be bought with bucks? A teenage love story that started with 24 yen) and the seinen parts are mostly related to Fumi's job and both Souta's emotionally damaged psyche and the bullying/social isolation he suffers. Also, the scheduling (bi-weekly/semimonthly) prevents it from the dreaded paddling some weekly series suffer from.

Btw, no raw chapter this week and 2nd tankoubon related hiatus confirmed. Big comic bros updated the Big Comic Superior site with the recent issue, and no By Spring in sight.

The kid is a bit of a weak soy simp looking ass but hey it's still only 15 chps in & that's what character progression is for right?

Here's to hoping it sticks somewhere on the bored & not flat on it's face.

I don't wanna go too deep into my take on this manga until it's over, but so far, while it encompasses some very dark themes (most associated with some form of NTR), it has a pretty interesting premise. The MC, like a lot of MCs is so naive it's sad, and I think that girl may
be turning a bit yandere.
The themes it involves are very delicate themes (Mental Health, Prostitution), that may ultimately overtake the plot. However, I do have high hopes for this manga, as it does have a very engaging story line, but it is treading on an unsteady path, and one mistake can ultimately turn this whole thing upside down (I would not like where this manga could possibly go).

This manga is fun to read, especially alongside all the fluff ones I'm currently reading.

MC is kind of weak (understandable bc of his fubar childhood and his current situation) , but doesn't fall into the simp category.

Things are going to get really dangerous after the hiatus. Besides of the 2 toxic females who obsess over Souta (you know who are they), now add Souta's own misconceptions about Haru. Honestly, shit's gonna hit the fan harder than a category 5 typhoon.

hmmthe smut tag and that description may turn people off from reading this even though that description is misleading

It's smut-tagged bc of a chapter regarding MC's mom engaged in explicit sex activities, and a short panel at ch. 11 when a girl from one of Souta's porn mags is doing oral.

Yeah, it ain't the better description, but that's what appears at 1st tankoubon cover.

In the narrative world there is a few concepts.

In western media it's 'grim dark' - excessive grays and browns, hyper violence and 'no good people' tend to be tropes played out over and over for some bizarre take at 'realism' that drifts into Clockwork Orange levels of stupidity very quickly.

In Japanese media it's 'depressing' - prostitute love interests, abusive mothers, psycho girls obsessed with some loser, etc. In an attempt to portray 'realism' they turn to caricatures, black and white mentalities and lean heavily on 'misunderstandings' between characters. The authors often mislead or give vague hints onto the characters actual actions. Common japanese romance tropes are also included, love triangles, sleezy pickup artists.

This manga is so no different or innovative from it's peers. It tells a basic story of a poor boy with a hooker for a mother, trading pennies for companionship from a rich girl who allegedly whores herself out under a bridge to feel some semblance of 'power' over her controlling parents. There is a love triangle misunderstanding girl involved, the main character is meek, and it's predictably unclear if the main love interest is actually a prostitute. (though a recent chapter showing her with large piles of cash and mentioning she keeps MC's money 'separate from the others' suggests she is.)

This manga will follow a predictable branch of two or three paths.

1. Main love interest pampers MC, he is in love; he sees her with a man. Either old salary gentlemen or tanned blonde guy - this causes a misunderstanding OR if it's going for HYPER REALISM will be exactly as it appears. The two struggle to find meaning to their twisted relationship; if she is actually a hooker they'll end up together.

2. Weird love triangle girl wins in the end because MC and hooker love interest could never work out. Flashbacks at end of the good times they spent together, they cross each other in a busy street. MC looks back, she doesn't.

3. It never ends, they just constantly fall into misunderstanding after misunderstanding for hundreds of chapters till everyone drops it.

All that said, it's not a bad manga. Cliche, generic and perhaps a bit excessively 'deep' it will fill time for those who like the seeping dread of the MC being used and abused by those around him. Those who self insert into characters are better to avoid, depression lies ahead.

It hurts so bad each time there is an adult also when we are reminded that he is poor
