Why wont the pages load [Intermittent outages from extremely high traffic]

Idk if it's cause if the recent maintenance check but for some reason pages won't load now. It worked fine previous. Im using chrome but i tried opera too and it doesn't work there either

When I wrote this, this was what could be considered a "duplicate Bug report" in the "Bugs" Forum - a Moderator moved the whole thing and merged with this Support Ticket Later...

Maybe YOU should read that thread.

That post was made yesterday and claimed that the issue was resolved. And yet people kept reporting that the problem was still happening all the up until the thread was locked just an hour or so ago.

If opening a new bug report isn't the correct action, what is? "Wait for it to fix itself" clearly hasn't worked yet.

well either way, they locked the thread with a "we fixed it" post that was yesterday and said to only expect "a few more hours" of slow loading and its been way longer than that. Would love an update if possible.

images have loaded slowly for me ever since yesterday, it hasn't really gotten better either, that said, as it seems to be a region specific issue, maybe turning on a vpn may fix it temporarily

The API is "down", that's why.
Technically speaking, all of the API endpoints return an 500 error except for the /ping one.
Also the staff is currently working at this issue at the moment:
The mangadex supports channel is locked right now.

Can I rant a bit?

To me it feels like MangaDex is "over-engineered" for no good reason.

I remember reading on aggregator sites over a decade ago and the only problem I'd occasionally face would be slow image loading. But even then, I could just open 5 chapters in a row and have them load in the background.

MangaDex not only seems to have so much downtime but even the website itself is so heavy to render and is very unresponsive on lower end phones and tablets that it's such a pain to use.

But there's no other place for good quality translations, and the community is nice too. And I feel like I shouldn't critique this since I get to access all of this for free
