My immersion was broken the moment I saw that this is set in an Ancient Greece-inspired setting lol (hi, I'm Greek) The clothes do look loosely inspired but at the same time they're not quite right either. (I honestly thought this was gonna be set in Ancient Rome when I was looking at the cover)

They didn't even try with the male lead's name, naming him "Tur" or whatever, so I'm not surprised they didn't try that much on Luxia's name either :dogkek:

Burning her at the stake sure is an interesting approach, and I really loved the art there as the character is getting burned alive, though I think throwing rocks at her until she died would make more sense considering the setting, or even just throwing her down a cliff/using her as a sacrifice for the gods? (as far as I know/remember from what I've been taught they didn't really burn people alive at stakes during that time)

After the dark system battles, the hints at her being shunned at her job, the cultist follower that travels through worlds to find her - i am actually HYPED for a straightforward story like in the good ol' arcs from the very beginnings of this epic.

Do remember, that whatever the setting is - it is done by an inept author of the trashy novel our MC migrates to. It is not meant to be even remotely Ancient Greece and in fact the arc's setting being retarded, absurd, contradictory and flat out misguided lends quite well to the ... uhhh ... setting of the whole Manhua.

Every 2nd story arc I find myself again questioning "in what universe would people actually write stories like this?" where it's a wish-fulfillment harem novel where the protagonist is just blatantly evil for no discernible reason?

"We have just met and I like you, [Male Lead 1], now go murder your fiance/wife if you want to be together with me"

Usually they'd at least try to justify it with "male lead is engaged to someone who abuses him" or "MC was wronged somehow and is on an edgy revenge quest". Maybe literally any pre-teen fanfic that gets uploaded online is viable to be picked by the system.

It makes me wonder if the author of this manhua actually goes through webfiction sites to get inspiration for trash :dogkek:

The author could've chosen Selene as the moon goddess, she is after all the actual moon goddess of Greece(as far as I know). It would have also fit better with the transmigrator's character, Selene is like only known for one myth where she likes one guy, being absolutely love struck about the guy. Who's to say she wouldn't love other pretty men as well

I really really don't like how it's Artemis that's used for this. Yes in recent times she is basically the goddess of the moon, but the characterization just doesn't fit with her. The protector of women, the goddess of the hunt, one who represents the unknown wilds, a god where one of the most well known myths of hers is turning some guy into a deer and making his dogs feast on him, I just.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

Consider, if you will, the following:

"No no, oh definitely not. This is obviously not plagiarizing YOUR setting nor are we in any way implying that your novel is bad, unworthy or flawed in whatever way! I mean your protagonist is Selene and it is Artemis in our arc. And in our arc the villainous side character was burned on a cross, whilst your villainess was stoned by a mob. CLEARLY DIFFERENT. YOUR CEASE AND DESIST IS INVALID."

You'd be wise to visit the corner of YouTube lovingly monicker'd "BookTube", which contains book reviewers. I personally recommend James Tullos, but you do you (there is a good amount to choose from and if you watch a few videos, more will get recommended by You Tube as well). If you stare long enough into the abyss of BESTSELLING PUBLISHED AUTHORS WITH MULTI-BOOK SERIES FOR THE "YOUNG ADULT" AUDIENCE - that Abyss apparently stares back at you. And its pretty bois are most definitely not very pretty and in fact quite psychotic.

And once you visit said corner of the internet realize that you've only scratched the surface of the English speaking world and have no idea how bad it is elsewhere. Have you seen how gloriously ridiculous is the Iron Ladies manhua for example? Have you seen "I have been reincarnated as an Onsen"? These are all REAL, PUBLISHED WORKS!

So, no, you do not in fact need to visit Wattpad to stoop to the levels that are depicted here. These settings that are depicted in CMMD are in fact High Art in comparison.

Have you tried reading Chinese webnovel before? You'd be surprised at how many of them are like that. Divine Doctor: Daughter of the First Wife's protagonist Feng Yuheng is a good example of blatantly evil protagonist.

Because Artemis is more famous lol. I doubt many know who Selene is.
