I have to say the author is really good at writing the dynamics of the characters. Be it the Usato/Captain (I love how short tempered he is with her), the Demon girl with Usato or the captain, or the sempais... the lines flows naturally and look like real conversation. And the comedy is on point.

Also I like all the girls in this, but I can't see the Captain being a potential love interest for our MC.

I think it is.
That demon girl is just that. A girl. She looks about 16.
To me it seems like - and her monologues seems to confirm that - she got a strong power, got scouted for it for the army at a young age and never suffered defeat because, well, nobody could go through her armor.

And suddenly as she was winning as always, she gets punched by a bizarre dude, and not only does it get through, but it hurts like hell and nothing she does work. She find herself completely outmatched and I believe panicking is natural when everything was on easy mode for her whole life until now.

Then she is made prisoner, and from there the bizarre succeed to the strange as she starts living alongside "humans" that are closer to monsters and can never catch her breath. Again, she's a girl, not a woman. She never lost. She never had to really interact with people, and she's confronted to someone she just have no chance to win against.

Okay, demon girl
Peeee Teeee
Good for you
Good for me
LOUDER!

According to how some of the posters described the training; her exercising could be considered inhumane treatment and a possible violation of their fantasy world's version of the Geneva convention. I'll admit this chapter appealed to my sadistic side.

Why are you lot discussing this so seriously?

Forgiving and saving evil people is a common thing in fantasy storys especially if its a story that involves heroes ?

and in most mangas it is also a common thing when characters who are totally OP and never have tasted defeat befor, desire stronger opponents so they can fight and have fun with them.. i could tell you several mangas where that is the case and not just humans also almighty dragons say those lines ;> its like the catchphrase "keikaku doori" ( just as planned )

It is way too soon to judge the demon race, we don't know their reason for war as they clearly have emotions .. we also dont know that dark knights upbringing and its normal for a soldier to kill his enemys and yes its a "manga" so ofcourse they exaggerate and talk like " I WILL SLAUGHTER YOU ALL HAHAHA" do you wanna see people killing each other without monologue? try reading chinese martial arts manga then lol they are all assholes as long as your strong you decide whats justice and what not

lastly humans arent so innocent either.. you know discriminating beastman etc and their country hates humans as well lol

it was a war between nations
she was defeated and captured
she's not a criminal
she is a prisoner of war
killing PoW can only be done if you have proven that they have done some war crime
if you just blindly killing PoW, you are the one committing war crime

also, recruiting PoW to join your force is common practice even in our world

@yohane Depends entirely on the culture. Plenty of nations just killed prisoners they captured in battle without issue. A whole "leave no prisoners" thing. Heck, some of the Mesoamerican tribes did war explicitly to capture and sacrifice captives.

"War crimes" is a completely modern idea.

I suppose a waifu is one way to ensure your best student doesn't turn on you or run away. Clever.

I never liked this kind of development. It legalises slaves if people commit crimes and they are imprisoned.
wow just like in real life with prison labor, what a crime against humanity (demonkind in this case)

People talking about war crimes and slavery.... The next world war, I highly doubt people are going to be abiding by the "rules of war". If there is even such a thing...
