This is a logical, sensible, character-growth narrative twist. Akane realizes she loves Saito but doesn't want to force him to be with her, showing a solid gain of maturity. Saito likewise doesn't want to force Akane to remain in this objectively fucked up situation with him if she wants to leave like she is telling him she wants to.

But it is being executed poorly, is out of tone with the rest of the manga, and I absolutely hate and wish it would end as soon as possible as its just dumb forced misunderstanding drama.

this whole series has been nothing but neither of them properly communicate and just assumes they know what the other is thinking/wants. to place it solely on Akane's shoulders is wrong.

Anyway, y'all need to chill on Akane, especially those of you who love to make excuses for Saito whenever he does something equally (or perhaps even more) "ridiculous".

In that specific case it is pretty dumb because what the fuck other guys does Akane hang out with? The only probable candidate for her having enough interaction with to want to have a serious relationship is if she wanted to clamslam with Himari.


Saito has been traumatized out of his emotions (and take Akane's physical abuse, slapstick though it is) so he gets the maximum slack. Akane knows better or should, except she's got a Tsunditus infection.
though in this case she's trying to be good and self-sacrificing so yeah people being too hard on her.

You are right...on the execution part....I mean the author did that for the intent..(that being that later in her absence...and more he would realise his feelings)...but the author i think just likes to create a whole new drama to do that....but the intent was good

For some reason when a girl in a manga wants to break up/divorce, she must explain why or else their fiance/spouse won't accept it. And instead of saying vaguely: 'I don't love you anymore' or 'That's none of your concern', she says 'I have someone', and the heartbroken guy just backs off.

So, we are in the vol. 8 of light novel that had just started...2 more volumes follow up...vol.10 being the last one...by the end of vol.9...confession happens(you have to keep patience,my friend..that would be a good moment)..in end of vol.10...marriage goes by the end..(but,there is drama there...you will see..). I mean for me,those were very good moments in later volumes when only those two were together alone....there will be misunderstandings here and there...but you can manage if you keep patience.

I liked it despite its many faults maybe because I looked only at the positive parts....(One warning...that by the end...I don't know when..maybe author will make till vol.10...but remember there will be use of exaggerated gag as well here and there...you don't have to take everything literally...I will tell that by the end..there will be some nice moments wait for them...look positively..rest i will tell when we reach those parts of volumes

I’m very much team Akane. She has literal adults surrounding her, a kid, telling her how inadequate she is to be with Seito and even her best friend is trying to take him. Also, Seito has done NOTHING to reassure her since he refused to go on that date with her best friend.

My only gripe with her is her refusal to tell him she was the one at his party. That’s like, her fucking exodia right there. She plays it, she wins.

I feel so bad for Akane. She was dragged into this NONSENSE with a sociopath who refuses to understand his emotions who comes from a family of psychopaths and out of touch people who don’t understand boundaries, all in the hopes to make her dream of helping people come closer to being a reality.

That family is fucked, Seito is challenging to be with, even if he gets it together, he has shown that it takes incredible effort and sacrifice to get him to budge. No man is worth that, no matter how much you think you love him.

I’m very much team Akane. She has literal adults surrounding her, a kid, telling her how inadequate she is to be with Seito and even her best friend is trying to take him. Also, Seito has done NOTHING to reassure her since he refused to go on that date with her best friend.

My only gripe with her is her refusal to tell him she was the one at his party. That’s like, her fucking exodia right there. She plays it, she wins.

It is okay...yeah, and also akane do love him with loyalty....she is loyal and loves him far more than himari or any other...(More...would be revealed in last vol..of manga ..because it was shown how much to extent she loves him....that would be a nice scene)..

There would be good moments of her being the best wife suited for him..later on..as she would do actually lots of things for him..she is a person who would be ready to sacrifice herself to save saito in every lifetime..for saito...well he was kind of okay only..but I guess in this vol..his actual feelings, monologue of how love works according to him...and more will be revealed in his reasoning...by the end of this vol...that would be a really good moment..i wanna see the color panel of that.....plus I don't know why people think it is a harem...because clearly from the start..it is known who would be the wife...so it is all about character development,progression and moments i guess after that in a series like this...himari,maho,shisei are used like a catalyst...it is a rom com series with haremish elements...the girls are introduced so that to create chaos and romantic tension between them...hope you will like more mom

Like I know she's partially at fault here for not knowing how to communicate her reasoning properly, but for goodness' sake these are high schoolers - that's like their whole schtick. They genuinely finally had a good dynamic going and it would've kept going if himari could've done the bare basic thing of not actively and outwardly showing explicit desire to outright date her best friend's partner (not even a "wow your bf is hot" type of thing, but a straight-up "i want to be his gf") - you know, like a normal person would.

My friend,you are right in saying that..akane is still the best girl suited for him...because she will never try to manipulate him like a plaything..her love definitely transcends that of himari and others.....she has that selfless nature...not because she wanted to...but because...she had to because of her childhood experiences..if you remember...this is her trait...it will not change.....akane is therefore very easily manipulated by others....because of that....

Grandparents are doing that for a reason..(why they arranged them) you will get to know later.....while reading the light novel...I loved akane's character progression...but found it frustrating...why she always kept sacrificing herself for others' sake..I wanted her to be more selfish...but it is her nature from beginning so that can't be really changed that much..

Akane doesn't tell him..about the party...fearing that she would bee rejected...for saito...you will see a lot of his monologue...and how her absence will affect him....so this actually goes in akane's favour....plus it is just like when she was realising her own feelings back then...in previous vol...it comes in circle...right?...he has to experience it too...author did it dramatically...but that's fine...

Take positive as much as you can..enjoy the good moments...of those two..and try to overlook the negatives as much possible...then you can enjoy this or atleast relive those good moments
