On one hand, it's nearly impossible to feel sorry for Akane - her problems are almost entirely self-inflicted. At this point I'm thinking she's not a tsundere at all; she's some sort of un-diagnosed menhera. Probably some form of chronic anxiety.

On the other hand, with friends like Himari, who needs enemies? Readers should always keep in mind that Himari engineered this current situation in the first place by publicly confronting Akane and Saito in school, and then offering this current weirdness as the solution to the problem she caused.

Lastly, I expect Saito to be getting chewed out by his gramps - "only X months and you're already cheating on her?"

Huh. Also, it's nuts that they've been housemates for months but never exchanged numbers. Emergencies are a thing.

Tbh I don’t have a favorite, but that weird NTR bit where Himari clearly knows she’s hurting Akane is weird. Feels out of character even?

This is the part of the story when author decided that people (rightfully) hating Akene's guts and liking Himari way more was unacceptable so he pulled this 180 with her character out of his ass to make Akane look better (which is aiming for the impossible at this point). That's why it feels off. That being said, there is literally nothing wrong with what Himari is doing because Akane doesn't deserve or owed anything with the way she acts. You shouldn't pull back from your love just because some retard can't be honest even for one goddamn second. Her reason for being angry with him is even more retarded.

Imagine writing a FMC so badly that your readership has more haters then shippers. Similar situation with the Dreaming boy is a realist LN. Natsukawa is equally repulsive without any redeeming qualities as Akane here. Only 2 examples i can think of from recent memory.

Anyway, Akane should really be honest. Just use that her tempramental characteristic to be blunt and honest. I don't know what happened to her that made her change from cheerful girl to tsundere and tempramental girl, but she need to be honest. As far as I can see, they have feelings for each other but Saito is a little bit scared to Akane's tempramental issue (because maybe Saito didn't realized that Akane is a tsundere).
