@Ziti Page 17 should say Elegant, not Elegance.

A school idol obsessed with a boy isn't new, but what is new is how over the top Saegusa is. She's so prim and proper, yet outside of school she's so energetic. She wants to interact with Takuya more, but never actually gets to do so. If you actually talked to him, maybe he wouldn't be talking only to Yamamoto, you know.

I don't think you can really blame his brick-like density in this case. Because in here we have:
  • A former idol who's clearly still popular, at least in her class. This gives MC the automatic, maybe subconscious reasoning of 'yeah, no way I can get with her, she's so out of my league', so he doesn't give it a second thought from that point.
  • Said idol is used to talking to many people, but she and the MC have not once spoke to each other directly (at least as far as we've seen so far) other than the brief exchanges at the convenience store where she doesn't initiate the conversation, probably because she has little experience in that regard compared to the other way around.
  • MC has been watching the idol for a while, so he's something of a fan, further strengthening the first point of why he'll never go out with her. He seems casual about it, though, so who knows how much he knows about the idol in her work and personal life previously (as far as she's comfortable releasing in public, of course), but this new behavior he's seeing is totally new to him, completely different from what he has seen of her so far, so of course he'd have no idea how to handle the situation when directed at him.
  • We have yet to see what it is about MC that she likes so much or what drew her to him, but it's likely he won't see it as that big of a deal, more like a convenient passing thought, as most guys would, hence why he wouldn't consider it being the reason for her to like him.
  • We have yet to see MC being acquainted with other girls, so it's possible he's lacking experience in that department, as well, further strengthening the reason he's confused of the idol's behavior.
Despite that, I like how stupid the idol looks when around her obvious crush, so I'm sticking around for that alone.
You could've just said that the MC wants his homie's dick

I've read its webnovel version and it's ultra fucking boring.
I assume it's adapting the LN version. Not sure if there are any differences with them.

I have to wonder why no one else seems to notice how she acts around the dude she likes though, since she is so obviously stupidly in love with him.

I actually like that we only have his pov, because it make everything way more understandable. And fun rather than annoying.

On top of boring, I would say that the author simply doesn't know how to progress or balance a romance story AT ALL.
Like, he nailed the initial fun premise... but then failed so hard at everything else, that the boring ass side characters ended having a better romance than the main couple, which added to the frustration.

this is definitely one of those series that has a loner MC, a popular Heroine, and a popular best friend. I have nothing against it, I just have read so many types of RomCom with this kind of plot. I still wanna read it though since I'm pretty much a shounen fanboy.

Thanks for the heads-up, now I know not to waste time with this. Luce would never lead me wrong.
