Here's hoping that one dragon has been traumatised enough to not f* 'round n' find out more after loosing that eye.

If those lil' ones can eventually grow up,then they'd be in the category of "not worth the risk" to those lightning dragons,more so once they become even more capable egg smashers.

Now,it'd be fun to have a video game based on their survival up to the point they leave this Hellscape,finding flocks,growing,making decisions for the greater good,managing risk,and feeling the many stabs caused by loss.

And while I agree w/ the other commenters that they should be capable of defending themselves, I think their stupdity and Reisu telling them not to harm humans could actually make them vulnerable to exploitation and other schemes, so Amelia isn't worried for nothing.
And with such a large flock, it'd probably be hard to keep track of every single one...

I do think it makes for a nice contrast to show the harsh reality they have to live in, and l like that the FMC isn't outright undefeatable (at least for now), but doing so at the cost of those adorable airheads is brutal
And uh introducing those dragons now basically means we're going to run into them in the next couple chapters while trying to leave the plateau, right?

Considering that we have only seen the mc as an evolved version, that looks the least bit adult, I think that several of them might actually be adults. Also some number of those little girls should logically be males. Unless they suddenly come into being in the middle of the plateau. Which might actually be the case, but I don't think it is likely.

It's not a question of whether they'll be exploited or not: they will.

But when their feathers are listed as lightning immune and the dragons still electrocute them by the flock, slavery doesn't sound so bad.

Besides, if they really took all the little ostriches away, they would create a calamity: a superhuman MC who no longer has to waste time babysitting and can go fully into stealth and magic.

Actually,Conquest Of Elysium 5 is a bit closer,but ideal would be a dedicated game around those ideas.

I have played a few(if not just one)of those large heard Flash games,the one I recall the most was guiding a bunch of children trapped in a collective nightmare and respositioning them to best suite the obstacle ahead,that would be something as well.

We'll have to see what the author comes up with,there's equal chance that adult males are rare,solitary,and basically hidden from most dangers,finding the rare adult female,pumping n' dumping her,whilst the adult females either perish during egg laying or are simply more vulnerable during/after laying those small flocks.

Considering how actual ostriches work,if that was the solid ruling,then the main protagonist would've seen the two adults protecting them and the other flocks,so them going without definitely confirms the small ones being mostly fully grown,but lacking the requirements to level up n' evolve.
