At this point I'm just confused as to why anyone is surprised by this turn of events, even without reading the source material. This was telegraphed from the outset, when it was revealed that one of the Five Main Heroines of the Gender-Reversed World Harem Manga was in middle school.
Get upset, that's your prerogative, but acting like this came out of nowhere tells me a lot of people in this thread haven't actually been paying attention to what they're reading.

Especially as this whole series has been telegraphed to be horror in disguise, and things are absolutely gonna be trending south real quick from this point onward now that Masato is suddenly made aware of the fact that he's fucked up, and has been fucking up from Day Dot.

I'm not sure I understand your example comparison, but we are also told that Masato's behavior was problematic even back in his own world--specifically because he doesn't observe any nuance when interacting with someone of the opposite gender, to the point his girlfriends would break up with him because he treated every girl like they were his girlfriend (effectively, not respecting that he shouldn't be as close/familiar/friendly with others, in an equivalent way as he was with his girlfriend of the time).
So no, it's not solely the world/plot that are forcing decisions on him; it's explicitly laid out over and over that Masato's behavior is part of the problem and why each heroine is continuously getting the wrong idea.
He's basically friends with half of them, at best, but he's acting in a way that routinely gives heroine characters in non-ratio'd titles "the wrong idea". Doing it somewhere that promotes extreme competition between women for a restricted pool of romantic partners, and where men are portrayed as selfish & hedonistic, is a recipe for disaster.
And Masato narrates that he was broken up with before, and called out for his behavior at those times, and he chooses to persist with his behavior. And for all his realization he's in another world, he doesn't consider that said behavior--having proven problematic for him in the past--won't have outsized consequences somewhere that has women who are by-default desperate when it comes to relationships.

Actually I am really happy with this development. I've long awaited the author to show the weight of this 1:5 ratio difference.

In my edit, I was doing two things:

1. Playing ships
2. surprised at what fully transpired

The first part is me being silly while also being confused about his relationship with the first girl.



The second one is about how I was mostly thrown off not by her jumping him, but by him getting dominated and flustered by a 14yo to the point of taking it for "TENS of minutes".

If he is from our world, the consistency in his expectations and treatment just isn't adding up in this scene. He is clearly able to ward off fully developed women. (See chapter 1 image below).

I believe this is, please allow the very generous quotation marks, """"healthy"""" for Masato, in the sense that he's being forced (physically and emotionally) to understand that HIS ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES. And that he should be emotionally mature about how he treats others, specially women. Not giving false hopes, mixed signals or anything.
That's actually something that happens in real life a lot. Most of the people that do those things do it just because it feels good to have someone noticing you and caring for you, so they do it at least in a subconscious level. The famous friendzone.
