Oh! There’s some nice Japanese lore to be mentioned here to explain something that some of you might think is an error!
The 3 dorms are said to be called the “traffic light”, but they are red, yellow, and blue… well, that’s because the “blue” and “green” colors have a funny word history. Currently, it’s Ao for blue, and MidorI for green (oversimplified, but for this explanation it’s sufficient), but it wasn’t always true, and there’s still living people that grew up with Ao meaning BOTH blue AND green. So when people kept calling the green light “Ao”, they changed the color to follow the naming, to reduce confusion! So traffic lights in Japan are red, yellow, and blue!

(Actually, because of international treaties that force all “go” lights to be green as a world wide standard, the ACTUAL color of the “go” light in Japan is the bluest “teal green” they could pull off, so visually it definitely looks blue, but legally they can claim it’s green.)
