I'm going to laugh if it turns out that all monsters get crests but none of them are of any real use because 99% of the monsters don't fulfill the criteria to actually use them. So the humans just teach, "they don't have crests." And then Cave King allows for the harvesting of stones and gems that, just so happen, to be able to circumvent most of those criteria.

Maybe the ability to prosper inside of a cave is the REAL power of the Demon King.

@Lord-Raine We already know that is basically what is going to happen. We already have a successful case and the wise old man has a powerful sorcerer crest so he will obviously be unlock that later. MC is expanding the island. It's going to become the size of a country eventually most likely.

@Wolfwhistler I hope so. I know it's super cheesy and kind of a cliche at this point, but I really enjoy the "and then a normal person accidentally became the demon king" plot.

The region they banished him to is considered cursed, as well. It's been awhile since I reread the beginning chapters of this, but that region of the ocean has a bad reputation as well, doesn't it? They've basically set him up to become the Demon King, reigning from his magical Super Atlantis in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle.

Hopefully it doesn't get dropped. I enjoy things like that. It's not terribly highbrow, sure, but then, neither is popcorn.

@Lord-Raine I would Wakanda that place. If the island disappears and you have a magic that could cause ships to just go around without thought you need not worry about becoming the demon king or some shit. I just wonder how they get enough drinking water

@Liquidxlax The reason I think he's going to end up being called the Daimou or Demon King is because he's obviously going to end up with a pet dragon at some point. And equally obviously, humanity hates dragons, seeing how they burned his infant pet one to death and nearly lynched him for owning it.

Maybe he wants to BE left alone to prosper with the people he gathers around himself, sure. But will the rest of the world LEAVE him alone? Smart money says, probably not. And when that baby dragon gets revived, eventually, and when it evolves into something bigger, eventually. There's going to be hell to pay. Probably. Because him being left alone to his own devices would get boring after awhile.
