Interesting enough, concept is overdone but the characters have some merit. The thing keeping me reading is the question of how the hero lost his way, its clear from the first chapter he's got a good heart at least, if he is prone to being lazy. Maybe he is trying his best and the twist is his fiance lied to his parents for some reason. Maybe he's just hitting a glass ceiling that he needs help breaking. Honestly I assume it's going to be unanswered or answered in the most cliche way but for right now, (ch 4) I'm holding out hope
