So here we have it, the GOAT is finally being discussed. I mean seriously, Lon Beruk turns his back on the literal "God of the Underworld" walks away, and then lets Mystvearn get one hit in because of pride for having turned Vearn down, but makes it clear "you try that again, and I'll wreck you." Seriously, this man has balls of steel. He is the Honey Badger of Dai Characters.

Other than Popp, I think Lon Beruk is one of my favorites.

Changes Going Forward after Volume 13:

- No more SFX. May or may not put a small translation next to them. This will allow for weekly updates so we catch up to current by end of year.

- Honorifics. I generally don't use honorifics, but every once in a while they are relevant... Avan is called "Sensei" by a lot of people now. And the lack of honorific, or the use of Kun or Chan, creates a tone that's hard to translate without the honorific. What do you guys want? Do you want honorifics to be included?

Not everything needs a deep or complex or even a small reason, indeed. Just waku waku and love of the game is just as valid.

I'm really liking these guys, even their reason to not participate during the war is legit enough to answer/justify the typical "where were all these super strong dudes during the previous arc???" syndrome that plagues so many series when they enter a new arc, or even worse, a sequel. They want a 1vs1, Fox only, Final Destination, so you can't argue they should have helped the human effort since they wouldn't have been able to get "the one fight" that way, since it was, you know, a war. It's a different type of waku waku, I feel.

I'm a staunch defender and loyalist of honorifics should remain in translations so you have my vote for including them from now on.
Incidentally, the official translation of the manga, don't remember what they used for the anime subs, is using Master. Using Coach for Matoriv too.

Also, these guys will have their motivations and reasons expanded a bunch next chapter. It took me by surprise! I like it but I also don't, but I'll wait until next time to say why, to avoid spoilers.

I usually do Saturdays, but I have plans tomorrow evening and I didn't want to forget! I wonder, does the dex have a way to schedule uploads? I could upload in advanced then it goes live on a schedule? They'd be super consistent that way, especially when I switch to weekly updates.

Honestly it would be a bit weird for honorifics to now be added after all the chapters without them, excluding sensei as you stated. The only time I would see their inclusion necessary I if a character changes or gets rid of the honorific they use for someone else, but then again, there are solutions for that as well. Dropping -san could just be changed to dropping Mr., and using a cutesy honorific can be replaced with a pet name instead (ex. Hyunkel-chan being turned into Hyunkie), though a TL note besides the first instance of this as well would be appreciated.

I was going by the wiki which calls him Lon Beruk. I tend to default to what the various DQ wikis have for things.

Thank you! I actually did not have Dr Diablo do proofreading this time, so of course there's some mistakes! He was busy playing other games. I am no good at IE or EI in words lol same thing with the EU and neutralize. I'm pretty sure I can update that, I'll do it sometime today or tomorrow.
