Read this like you would read a shoujo (since author appears to be a woman). No idea why this is classified as a seinen though. There is nothing seinen (aka adult oriented) about it. Most certainly not the leads.
This is a seinen manga. Enomoto’s previous work “I have a crush at work” was also seinen and is currently airing as an anime.
The magazine this is serialised in doesn’t have much of a shoujo, josei or female audience in general.
I don’t understand what the author being a woman has to do with the story they tell. Plenty of female authors have written action shounen, romcoms and other stuff that is mainly targeted at male audience. The biggest example being Sono bisque in terms of romance and full metal alchemist in the action shounen, both of which are top of their chains. Noragami, Inuyasha, Beastars, Demon Slayer and a more recent one, Gachikuta are prime examples of stories written by female authors mainly for male audience.
As for the leads, they are more mature than most seinen leads trust me. They have done most things that takes a couple 100s chapters to do in 20 chapters. It’s just they aren’t well versed in the romance department, especially Ban who has been lead to believe she can’t love anyone and Yuuki on the other hand hasn’t had much experience in romance and was also a someone who wasnt very confident himself because of which he fumbled his relationship with the girl in the start (who showed up this chapter again) but he’s a changed man now.
If you’re expecting a serious romance where both the leads have their shit together here even after reading the title and the synopsis then it’s your fault for not understanding the author’s intentions.
With that, I conclude my yap session.
