If it's anything it's white people, particularly Americans. Probably influenced a bit by the base at Okinawa. To a lesser extent it could extend to foreigners in general, particularly and primarily wealthy ones.

Not really inclined to instantly declare what this is based off of the first chapter, what is meant to be a possible hook for the series.

And the hook/buzz about it clearly works with it gaining tons of attention on Manga Plus (319k views at time of writing, versus say 180k for the last chapter of Sakamoto Days and 173k for Kagurabachi).

Curious if it goes the route of genuine xenophobia (or anti-colonialism, as I saw one commenter put it, which could be interesting) or if there's going to be some twist to double back on to act as satire

this is unlikely to go anywhere. the longest runtime it is likely to have is if it keeps walking the line that's upsetting people for as long as possible. if it leans one way or the other it will very quickly lose the engagement it's built, because whatever agenda is being pushed will anger one of two groups of people, who will leave in anger, and then the other group will have nobody to argue about it with and stop reading it.

Not really. It's usually Whites who occupy high positions in Japanese companies. The entire plot point of the drunk driver mirrors the numerous incidents of US Marines in Japan Drink Driving and causing accidents and even deaths and getting off with no or minor sentences. The "saving" of Earth and giving advanced Tech mirror the United States occupation and development of Japan in the Post-War period. The MVP of the NPB in the manga is an Alien (while several foreign nations play Baseball, it's most likely a reference to an American Baseball player)

Indians and Chinese are DEFINETELY not glamorized and in Japanese society like the Manga shows the Aliens are. Nor can they get away with speaking their own language in Japan like an English speaker can.

The space ships flying overhead and being a nuisance is definitely an American thing too. They hate those American jet flyovers.

You know what's hilarious? If you completely removed the alien plotline, and it's all just humans, Namamoto's boss would be some spoiled nepo baby, and Kitami's family would have been killed in a car crash caused by some rich guy. "Eat the rich" is a famous and old saying (from 1793 btw), it's not Reddit exclusive. And where did I say it was about the Japanese rich? I said the manga was about anti-colonisation, the rich and powerful occupying another country.

Japan was also colonized and harassed multiple times in their existence. History doesn't start and end with WWII. Every group and country has some baggage and if not they haven't been around long enough to be judged in hindsight by armchair historians for something they though was "on the right side of history" at the time.

Source for Japan being colonized multiple times during their existence? I honestly couldn't find any, so I'm curious. They were occupied for a short time before WWII, but that's far, really far, from other countries experienced. I agree with the last statement somewhat, people shouldn't be judged from crimes committed from their ancestors, but people also need to learn from their country's mistakes and also not be hypocritical about it.
This rclay1 guy for instance is carrying around proudly an image of Britain's flag as his logo, fine, but dude is also complaining that immigrants shouldn't exist. Britain colonized multiple countries, especially in Africa, and these said countries now suffer from numerous infrastructural problems, while Britain collected a lot of wealth from the colonization. Shouldn't there be some reparation? Shouldn't these countries work together to come up with a solution? It's not about just blaming all on them, or even their people who had nothing to do with it, but it's about responsibility.
