I'v been reading the light novel. Its not like that in there. He meant that his father would punish him severely if Cordelia came to harm since shes the only child he has a more normal 'doting parent' relationship with. The father is a workaholic and the mother isn't worried about being replaced like that, she's upset her husband wasn't affectionate. They have a bunch of kids already and they split into factions based on which parent they spend time with. The parents were basically estranged within the same house already and Cordelia was born expressly to match with the birth of the prince so that probably took some bargaining since theirs a large gap in years between her and her other siblings. Keeping her for himself basically refers to the father not marrying her off as planned rather than incest unless something changed pretty drastically between the novel and the manga.

I mean either Isma misunderstood BIG TIME or it was my misunderstanding based on the ambiguous translation (which I guess come from the manga cutting too many things that the novel explained). I guess based on what you said that her father wanted to keep Cordelia means something like keeping her in his faction?

She is an adult in the body fo a child, why does she cares even a little that "mother" don;t talk to her?
She also already should know the properties of the herbs and be able to make simple cosmetics at first and mroe complex ones later on after buying or making the necessary equipment and just then research on the use of magic for the increase in potency.
As it is the way she is doing just seen ineficient... that is one of the things that makes isekai stories bad for me, it gets me aways thinking on what the MC is supose to know and what it should be doing with it's knowledge...
