You like any of the so far introduced characters like Cecily (Or any other characters that was introduced)? You like character progressions and developments? If it is any of that, then you should be very concerned.
Author is likely going to F all of those up if it follows his previous script.

Sad =0(. Well their relationship was bound to be explored sooner or later, and I guess now was the time. Honestly, as much as I felt Sierra and Shirou were the best "couple" that's been introduced so far(though no doubt Lotte and Chris are pretty up there too), I thought this was an interesting way to end things. The approach leading up to the potential sexual encounter was very well done, and their feelings were properly communicated during the entirety of the encounter. Unfortunately it was not meant to be, at least for now, but I can appreciate the level of maturity they had with each other, given their feelings.
On a different note, with no Sierra(not that she got in the way of the other girls or anything, but still) I suppose now this opens the door for Cecily to step up a little(and maybe Rouge too, she hits a bit of a sweet spot for me >=09). Can't forget about her eventual confrontation with White Worm(assuming they'll fight due to their backgrounds).

Shirou himself leaves the island, because it... got too dangerous for him to stay, or something? I can't remember why exactly they said he left, but he starts traveling the main continent. I think they said he's looking for Chris? All I know is that a lot of people don't like the mainland arc and have been hoping that this version goes a completely different route.
At any rate, I'm holding out hope that once the comic catches up to the source material (which got put on indefinite hiatus, possibly to focus more on this version instead), we'll have a payoff where Shirou does reunite with Chris and eventually brings every girl he's befriended so far together for one big climactic finish against... the empire, presumably, since that fight is what Chris has been doing since she left the island herself. The exact words of Sierra's letter here makes me a bit more confident that this is what the endgame is, especially with that "whenever you see no way out, I'll always be there, to support you, no matter where you are on this planet, I'll come rushing to you" line. That's probably not the direction a lot of people reading this are hoping for, but I think it would be awesome, and a great way to tie together so many arcs that have seemed largely unconnected up until now.
