I mean, maybe he's just into this? He seems to enjoy it. He didn't seem like a particularly traditionally masculine guy back on Earth, and maybe having this more passive role in a relationship just suits him like a glove.

let me correct you. it's not just he's into this, he's really, really into this type of shit lmao like later chapters after this, he's literally begging to be raped.. even though there's still trauma from the first chapter but his horny ass is much more stronger than his traumatized side lmao

idk what you're confused about. He used a bar from the cell window to make a file. I don't know if he could have used the shackles as a material to make something and freed her using that, but I guess he didn't think of that. He's already using seawater to make drinking water and to speed up bread. And at this point he seems to only be able to use his magic for one thing at a time, which is why he didn't use the bed for anything (he was already making the file).
So yeah, that's most of your questions answered just by reading the manga.
