My suspension of disbelief is getting strained hard when this arc is awash in essentially men with vaginas mob characters, only to have the main girl characters to be traditionally attractive by typical harem standards. The inconsistency kind of kills the story immersion ngl.

I said this last chapter as well, but if you look at some of the actual crowd shots (top of page 7, the group behind Erza on page 12, page 15), most of the mob characters have more normal-looking body types for women. Meanwhile, the "regular muscle ladies" that get focus on pages 8-11 also get called out by the narrative as exceptional. They'll probably continue to get more screentime than most extras as one of the only parties on the island that's successful enough to afford being "regulars" at Shirou's inn, and if that turns you off, you have my sympathies, but they're not exactly "mob characters" at this point, and can't be considered a representative sample of the island's population, let alone the world's.

Given that the dungeon island is a place where the principal way of earning wealth involves life-or-death combat with huge monsters, the idea that the island's richest people would wind up looking like that isn't exactly immersion-breaking - it's just common sense. Meanwhile, the main girl characters are all people who were basically in the right place at the right time to form a personal connection with Shirou by sheer happenstance. They're going to all be on the more attractive side because that's the way character design has worked in fiction for as long as there has been fiction, but they're also going to be more representative of a "random sampling" of their world's population in terms of body type than the "Regular Muscle Ladies" are because the circumstances that brought them into the story were more or less random, while the circumstances that brought the RML group into the story were not.

He prefers women that most in this world would apparently consider unattractive and "too masculine": those with delicate features and soft bodies. They, of course, exist among the rest.
