Well she's in a growth arc. She learned to hate men because of the shitty old power harassing asshole (this chapter's guy) and all the other shitty guys at her old place with the typical Japanese company culture.

Now she's met a bunch of new people who treat her like an actual human being and sincerely beg her for unreasonable stuff (and admit right up front it's unreasonable) instead of demanding it. So she's thawing. She's not ready to find a may-UN and get married next week, but she kind of knows these people aren't actively malicious. Though I'm sure there will be setbacks.
I wonder if her ex-manager or her ex-colleague was a woman, is she gonna hate all women too? I bet not.

What a great chapter. I love how vindictive she was about the whole call. Who gives af that you have a family? So do many other people, including her. Shouldn't have done stuff to put your family in jeopardy.

Thank you for the translation.

Ah right, they even said they needed far more overtime pay after she left, I was totally being absent minded there.
Not just that. I think that the manager was demoted because this is probably NOT the first time that a woman has quit and he'd blamed it on them being difficult with coworkers.

When they say Islands, they mean the cointryside. The rural prefectures of Japan. Plus, it was just mainly a vindictive line to say in the end. It's more of "have fun rotting in the countryside" type statement.
That's better than "do you like the mountain or the sea?" (Maybe it's forest.) I heard that's the yakuza asking you where you want your body disposed of.

Interesting that there is a proxy company for resigning/termination a worker can pay for in japan. Honestly probably a good way to escape abusive workplace but her call with her ex boss was kinda worrying. Might egged the guy too much hes going stalker muder mode later.
It serves several purposes.

Its an indirect accusation that some really bad crap happened, and is plenty justification for the manager to get demoted. Even the boss of the manager, if the TL is right.

It also serves as a good official declaration that contacting the person directly means that you don't need to give a single f what they say.

It serves as the middle ground between an internal revolt and a public callout, which is useful when the company culture has turned everyone against you but you don't want to burn everything to the ground just yet. The company's reputation will already take a hit since they've been put on a list, but it's not getting dramatized.
