I feel like being known for career change advice was exactly what the original guy was trying to avoid. Like yeah this kid was motivated and actively trying to improve before going to the cram school, but he is the exception not the rule. Most people see the salaries in tech and don't want to hear that computer science is a skill you have to put effort into learning.
Computer science isn't a skill. It is a field of scientific study.

Of course he conveniently leaves a paper on his desk that says:
  • Getting Mum to Hawaii (that's her dream)!!
  • How do I save up money to get mum to Hawaii!?
  • I'm working hard fer me mum!
  • I'm a good boy who loves his mum!
  • Mum is the best!
  • Off to Hawaii we both go!!
:dogkek:
There's a lot of people who like to write down their plans in order to have them present and mentalize themselves, I actually found this part very natural

Sweet, tho it'd be nice if there was a cheaper way to get to hawaii assuming they'd also spend a lot while there, be nice if there were ppl who 'couldn't make their flights' and cancelling tickets, so they get resold for cheaper to the next ppl who snatch it up but idk if it's that easy
:shamihuh:bro better not sell her back to her old boss...

I imagine she would know better and refuse any kinda job/do her own thing, but it would be interesting if every single person in the company quit besides him, i don't think stuff like that ever happens to the extreme versus the company shutting down to begin with but anything's possible in animanga lol

That's downplaying it a tad, don't you think?
Sure, I simplified it for the sake of humour.
I just found it funny that he made a note detailing how how hard he's working for his mum and how much he loves his mum, that he conveniently left out on his desk, that his mum just happened to find, right after she was dreaming about Hawaii.

I'm not sure what you're finger wagging exactly, but whatevs.

Sure. When I play videogames, I also find it very natural when there are a bunch of personal diary notes scattered around giving me lore dumps. :dogkek:
Just to reiterate; I didn't find the note to be the amusing thing, it's that he also left it out for his mum to find - the note about him working hard to achieve his mum's dream that is.

It's the simplest thing to for writer to picture how the mother find out what the son doing. There is other way of course, like her mom being detective to find what his son doing. It would make the pages bloated making it a chance for the reader failed to get the point.

I'm actually shocked that job change dude was happy for them. I was sure it was some kind of sabotage plan for their reputation.

I am finger wagging exactly this kind of behaviour. If you still don't get it, then it's a skill issue on your part. Which is fine to be shit at btw. You don't need this skill to be able to live. It's completely optional.

Well I guess it is a skill issue, because I'm not sure what you're getting at, but whatever - it's a discussion about japanese comics on the internet - it hardly matters.

Not having a home phone is possible too if the household already have a cell phone
assuming they never moved, she was talking on the phone the first couple pages of the chapter even tho that was like a flashback from a decade ago. tho other than him having a personal cell phone, i imagine it'd be pretty embarrassing for a parent to call a work place to 'check in' on someone, tho depending on how you do it, i guess it could also come off as a passive aggressive to the company like "you're making my son stay out/doing too much overtime" (tho unless even flip phones are still pricey you'd think he'd have a cheap burner phone for emergencies/if only for work or so even if he hasn't gotten far enough in his career to have his own business cards printed out)
