@Kendama For once I'm surprised too - that it's a downer ending that would actually feel unconvincing. Even in a scenario without Kwon around and his father relapsing into psychotic behavior, the changes Jaekyung put himself through signalled that things wouldn't play out in quite the same way again, even at worst. Given these changes, the editorially-meddled ending feels obviously force-fitted and thematically regressive. A true downer would have been one where the author makes a convincing case for all the MC's struggles having been for nothing, in the vein of a shoot the shaggy dog story

Thank you so much for sharing this and at the speed you did, I really appreciate it. I read it on naver first without understanding everything and was so curious about the last two chapters especially. This was a very painful and endearing read, I really wish the ending had a happier outcome for Jaekyung but at the same time it was very fitting. Thank you again!!

What...THE FUCKITY FUCK WAS THAT GOD AWFUL ENDING!!!!!!
Are you fucking kidding me!?!?! This is how the manhwa writer wants to end it? Jaekyung gets a measly apology and is now completely and utterly in another state of infinite desolation!!! I dont fucking think so man! If anybody knows korean, please I beg you to message whoever wrote this trash ending and tell him that this is no way to go out. Jaekyung deserves better!!!

@bruhclone I personally don't get a kick out of depression porn content because I would rather escape the sadness of reality to a more chiller place where things can be okay in spite of everything. But you do you man.

It is hard to escape an abusive relationship, it's not something you can reason your way out of. "I can't live without you" "I'm sorry, I've changed" is a common thing abusers will say, and when you feel unnecessary at least this one person needs you.

It's not that effort is worthless, but when every day is an effort to stay alive eventually you run out. There are people in this world, and one day you just stop seeing them

Pretty good story Although I can't help but feel that its fairly rushed in some points Also, i feel genuinely surprised that no one is upset over how Hansol loses much of her relevance after Kwon becomes a friend again. I mean she never even finds out about there being anything wrong with the MCs life much less the domestic abuse he is undergoing. It cheapens her character a lot in my opinion. Lastly, I am extremely surprised that anyone thinks that the ending is ambiguous in terms of whether it is happy or not. I find it very hard to believe that you can interpret this ending as anything but tragic. If the last few pages were in the mc's head than the story tells us that while he may be given an opportunity to be happy, his own mental state will be overwhelmingly haunting him for the rest of his life and if the last few pages are true than he most likely commits suicide by jumping (which is what i think is what actually happens).
Although I do think it is interesting to think whether or not the happy ending was how the author originally wanted it to end after reading the afterword. I also think that if the happy end before the twist was the original ending that it was probably not as good as the one we got simply because it feels too easy, but at the same time I don't really like the ending we got now (although i love how the artist shows his slow degradation you notice that he is getting consistent perfect scores in the background, but as he loses each friend at a time he starts slipping until his grade becomes actually failing in the real sense (look at the test scores in the background as he falls) I also thought it was neat to see the implication that Kwon was the first friend to be lost showing on how much of a barrier he was to keep the MC sane). Where was I? Oh yeah the bad end still leaves me a bit unsatisfied and I believe this was due to Hansol losing her relevance. She is after all 1/3 of the teenagers' we follow and it feels like she is just deadweight except for showing the mc how terrible his life is. It also doesn't help how there are cuts at times to events to the future that feel a bit much like the best example i can think of is Kwon saying he will help the mc to his father and it just cuts to the test scores or when the mc just decides to see his mother and defy his father after being so resistant to Kwon Sorry for the rambling I just got really into the story and I will definitely recommend it to others in the future, but I just wish the author got more time to develop the story
