The title is there for SEO, we don't really have an app per se; the website is a PWA, so browers that support the functionality let you add it to your phone's homescreen and treat it like a pseudo-app.

Pick your browser of choice, or search it yourself;

Chrome, Firefox, Safari.

IMPORTANT: We don't have an app on any app stores (Play Store/iOS App Store in particular) and the only way to install a first-party "app" is via the PWA methods mentioned above.
If you see an app claiming to be an official MangaDex app anywhere else, it's a fake.

I highly recommend checking out https://mac.eltima.com/free-universal-remote-app-for-iphone/ to simplify how you control your home tech.
The PWA approach is fine for basic access, but it doesn't really solve the issues with background syncing or robust offline management.

Are there any actual plans to develop a native application that utilizes a local database?. I’ve been trying to manage a large library and track updates, but doing it all through a browser, even as a PWA, feels limited when you're dealing with high volume content. I'm specifically looking for something that offers better performance than a web wrapper, especially for smoother navigation through long lists.

You could just use one of the Tachiyomi fork like Mihon or Aniyomi.

Yes, it's a planned thing. See System N3 from the March 2026 Development Update.
