Excluding Tags

Whenever I use tags that I want to exclude , it never really works ? For example , if I put smut under the exclude tags , the webtoons / manga that appear usually have a smut tag . I mean I still get some without it but I’d rather be able to get the ones I’m interested in . Also , I’ve used the any and the or option and I get the same results
(Further context - including ; shounen ai ; comedy ; etc - excluding ; smut ; incest )

It works fine though? Exclusion mode Any. Include tags shounen ai, comedy. Exclude tag incest. 791 results.
> Exclude tag smut added: 766 results.
> Include tag smut added: 25 results.

791 - 766 = 25. So out of all these combinations, only 25 results have smut tag. How 'usually' can you encounter it?

Edit: If you were talking about the Exclude tags in your settings, it won't work in search.

Exclude tags in Settings, only applies to the Front Page/Latest Updates.
Which it LITERALLY says

"Select tags to exclude from the frontpage, latest chapter updates, and chapter lists from manga and group pages.
The search and the user's MDList will ignore this setting and use their individual filter functionality instead."
