💡 I wasn't planning on posting this today.
But after a conversation with our community, I realized something profound.
A user deletes their account.
They see:
"This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Your account will be deleted within 28 days."
Most people read this as a technical message.
I read it as a metaphor for leadership.
Because every day, as leaders, founders, moderators, and human beings, we press buttons that cannot be unpressed.
Relationships.
Opportunities.
Decisions.
There is no "undo".
There is no "I'll think about it tomorrow".
There is only the moment you click confirm.
The 28 days?
They're just backend processing.
Just like in life, the consequences often take time to become visible, even though the decision was made long ago.
That hit me hard.
As moderators, we don't just maintain a website.
We steward trust.
We shape experiences.
We hold digital memories in our hands.
And that's why transparency matters.
Because somewhere, someone is one click away from losing years of bookmarks, reading history, and memories.
If you're tired, don't delete.
Log out.
Take a break.
Touch grass.
Drink water.
Come back when you're ready.
Your seat at the table will still be waiting for you.
Sometimes the strongest action isn't letting go.
It's knowing you can return.
