Caught up to this one.
And I say... I like this completely bonkers edgelordy revenge story. Completely self-aware how out of field it is. It went straight to the revenge with enough justification how stupidly evil the villains are before being torn apart, and fleshed those characters out in later arcs, relatively. I think this is the first time I saw revenge powerscaling - from a crazy princess to now gods.

I guess Victoria was an enough popular character to justify a multi-chapter backstory arc. And it is overstaying its welcome. All the while Teodora is in a very dangerous predicament and MC is reading. I feel the author is probably stalling for time to figure out how to get on with the overall story.

100% this is what is happening plus a bit of retcon for the redemption. Victoria didn't originally know who Raoul was so expect to see a convenient amnesia moment before the flashback resolves.

Could go a million different ways but I'm thinking there will be amnesty for the rest of the hero party and they will fight the gods using the power of friendship in sort of a dark comedy take on the troupe. As specified before, a lot of who they became was due to the gods meddling and Raoul has seen through his paradise experiment that environmental factors can play a big role in corrupting a person (as well as seeing the gods wont stand by while he builds a better (boring) world). So he'll let them out on conditional release while messing with them the whole way.

I mean tbh author has done a rather excellent job on the Victoria backstory. Idk what it is but this doesn't feel contrived... I don't feel like rolling my eyes when I read it.

So narratively, nice work author. But also are we there yet? I think I got it, she was corrupted by a god.

Then again this is about par for the course for self-indulgent revengeslop. idfk why im even critiquing ts.
