But where is this story going? What does he want after getting his revenge? This seems kinda aimless until the author figures what happens next

I mean, where it’s going is revenge against the pantheon of gods that enabled/encouraged/are-in-some-tangential-way-responsible-for the way he was treated. Remember? The baby pantheon leader and the rest that showed up in the b-plot while he was in hell. That’s where this is ultimately heading, i would assume. How long it’s going to take to get there and whether or not he just deletes the universe once he’s done is anyone’s guess.

I do wonder if the new islanders will let a good thing be a good thing or if they ruin it somehow. I think raoul is mostly genuine there - they passed his double-blind filter test, and the threat of immediate hell should be enough to keep any but the most determined from degenerating into assholes. I think as far as he’s concerned everyone who actually participated in his execution has been dealt with, and the country that caused it is in ruins, so as long as nobody starts to show signs of the behavior that led to that state of affairs, he has no beef with them.

It was a chapter 3.4.
Not that brutal compared to things we see here, she was just slain by blades. She was pregnant though.

Brother she was gang-raped simultaneously for days on end, with no rest, by the priests she had previously trusted. We've seen that around chapter 60-ish or so when Archmage Wendel recounts his experience of watching her suffering because he "wanted to know how the Hero's older sister sounded like" as she was being violated. All while being pregnant, which definitely made it even harder and more painful on her body, and all while she was likely extremely scared and confused as to why the Royal Princess would issue such a decree to have her raped and killed in this way, when her own brother is supposed to be the Hero fighting for the Kingdom's safety. She must've screamed and called out for her brother to rescue her, or anyone for that matter, but her pleas all fell on deaf ears before her own Kingdom and even her own community members like the church priests sold her out.

Other than extreme-gore fates like Princess Victoria's (who knows, maybe she's still kept alive being crucified to a cross while being devoured by bugs and insects), you don't really get any worse than this, even for this series, for living people anyway (discounting the suffering experienced by those in Hell).
