The victim would indeed die if they propagate that fast as what happened to MC, but who can be sure that they couldn't do it slower to keep the victim alive? Because the forbidden knowledge exist, someone should have survived the ordeal. Not to mention that baby slime's first instinct after being born was drinking victim's milk, which means that the victim would normally be alive after the breeding process.

For the roper, it doesn't need victim's full brain faculty, they just need victim's working womb.

Looking a the previous chapter slimes don't need a host to reproduce. They apparently eat impurities on water and reproduce. It just happens that the human body is mostly water with a bunch of things mixed in. That slime was probably sucking out her body fluids and she was fine because she is immortal.

That's the mystery that I meant. Those breeding attempts (disregarding the success rate) should have happened EVERYWHERE and should have happened FOR A LONG TIME, and yet no one knows. About monster population, they just get hunted by adventurers as it has always been. It would no longer feel weird if it keeps happening for a long time. It's just that in this instance it was MC (best breeding stock ever) that got bred so the population increase was especially notable, not to mention that they're stronger.
