That was a large group of starving refugees. They didn’t have the resources to look after them. And even if they did the refugees weren’t that friendly and could’ve attacked them.

This is one guy who they could probably subdue. But they should definitely keep an eye on him.

That priest is totally insane, I think we can safely assume that the divine being who chose him to receive the revelation is good so he's probably not a threat. A magic swordsman on the other hand sounds dangerous.

Because the priest would go back and brag about meeting the FMC, meaning the church and kingdom would launch a full scale invasion of the forest just to get her back.

If the priest stayed but the swordswoman left she would get captured and tortured for information, leading to the same result.
