Wanda is definitely not a man's name, though Japan doesn't care when it comes to matching names and genders. Hell, we have one series where a buff dude is named Anna. Just be glad Wanda isn't some ugly bald dude caked in makeup with bulging muscles trying to act feminine. Disgusting.

There's so much going on in this arc that it's crazy. I still want to know more about monkey bro and his totally-not-future-wife bat girl friend. We got a taste of their dynamic, but we haven't seen them since.
wanda is a new factor. i don't know what his motive was. but considering he is an illusionist he might be actually a female too. so the motive can be jealousy to fone

Thanks for the chapter, Kredim.

My request was granted, this chapter. Relatedly, I think Hitamuki is some kind of deity herself, to move Shock so. I don't think nice words and begging alone would do it for someone with such contempt toward humanity.
deity that you mean.. is it like meidenna the one who got favored by international god?

So, Mole God and Fone were in love.
Mole God was forced out by fearful villagers.
Fone kept visiting him for years and years...
Until for whatever reason, Wanda and his Necromancer crony killed her and faked a suicide/accidental death.
This all seems to be a hostile reaction to Mole God specifically...

i will just leave it here in case you find my answer interesting

I find it kinda funny that no one seems have the idea that Wanda might seem feminine because he was named Wanda (a feminine name) and names tend to have/grant power in this universe...

...or maybe such a person just hasn't commented yet.

Maidena serving as a human shield was hilarious tho

Wow we got the real culprits, now we need to know the motive, but as everything related to that village is probably some petty bullshit

Well we know the true Culprits hate beasts that have human like traits . Maybe this all relates to that world event . Maybe this pair is apart of an organization. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Thank you for the translations as always.

Spoiler about Wanda
He didn't kill Fone for malicious reason, but due to the wicked elders lying to him.

Once he realizes what actually is true he's strickened with guilt, and in the end almost killed all the elders and himself through his illusion melting in lava or acid.

You know, until it's mentioned at the end there, I forgot that Hadesman got King's Storehouse, that allows him to use skills of people inside it.
And he got motherfucking time magic.

Holy shit that's a big trump card he's keeping close to his chest.

If his name is in katakana I think his name is actually Wonder Land

Yeah, Wanda's name is written as "Wanda" rather than "Wonder" but the allusion is obvious.

Soon, Kanzenbo becomes a Buddha.

No, I mean at least like Enome, who's a goddess--except different in some way, because whatever Hitamuki has seems to be inherent to her.

Doesn't Hitamuki have some sort of relationship to the world tree? I forgot what we actually know of her backstory. I did reread some of the more recent chapters though. "Since monsters require mana to live, they regard the source of magic, the world tree, as the supreme existence." (Chapter 70, page 26, Shock's description). Since Shock is a monster derived god like Hadesman, and not a nature-derived god, he respects/acquiesces to Hitamuki. (Chapter 72, page 11)

What was the point of Wanda and the necromancer disguising themselves as the two random guards that initially discovered Fone and Hadesman's relationship when they killed her? And it's implied that borrowed their equipment and not just their appearance.

prob just so that people wouldnt take skills into consideration, if only a "warrior" and "rogue" could have been the possible culprits then theres no possible way for them to have done it while an illusionist and necromancer can pull it off

It's only implied for now. It might be that Hitamuki and Kikuru have a deeper connection than anyone knew.

Hitamuki has almost completely pure mana.

Kikurur has none.

A previous chapter mentioned the day of admonititon and had a panel focused on Kikuru.

So we'll see for now.
