I'm having trouble understanding this. It's clear the work environment is toxic, and yeah, it was the junior's (Miyabi's) choice to resign, and she has all rights to not disclose her reasons for why, but because of the one time Takasu tried to speak up for her, awkward as it was, not just the management, but her coworkers outcast her too?

Japan has a big culture of ironing out any undesired characteristics, Takasu's regular standing up for Miyabi made her a nuisance in the eye of her coworkers because she dared to speak up to her superior, and she was also held responsible for Miyabi's sudden quitting, basically she was a good scapegoat

Ah, okay, I understand it better now. But sheesh, in that case Takasu's better off following Miyabi's example and find new work.

Japan is the least productive country in the world. :pacman:

Manga may be considered as anecdotal evidence. But as they say, where's smoke there's fire.

if I had to guess the boss was intentionally sabotaging the new girl with mistakes so that he could blackmail and sexually harass her, and because Committee Chair supported Miyama and had her back, Miyama had the courage to snitch on the boss to the president which caused the department to be investigated (hence the questionnaires and interviews) making the boss hate Committee Chair cause she interfered with his plan

BUT bc Committee Chair can’t pick up on nuanced social cues she has no idea and thought it was all her fault

if you remember back in chapter 4 Committee Chair’s senpai used to support her but now hates her and badmouths her with the boss

probably because senpai had something going on with the boss and hates her now because the boss does

I'm so lost. I have no clue how she could think that literally anything that happened was her fault. Nothing anybody could say to her should be able to convince her that sticking up for the new employee caused said employee to quit. This chapter did nothing but make me feel less sympathetic to this character.
