I feel like this series is just incredibly meh, like it's just uninteresting, I've seen it all before and better, so I see no point in continuing to read this.

Given that we've basically been shown that he's never been allowed outside of that tower, and has only seen his mother and his sister, him saying something like 'you two are the nicest people I've never met' makes little sense! It means nothing, but the MC is reincarnated so to the audience and himself it means something. He knows the story of the world so knows that the father, government, and remaining family aren't good people.

I get mom's concerns, but it was definitely a bad move to tip their hand so early. The biggest advantage they have on their piece of shit father isn't his little sister's value, but his secret.

I was really expecting him to kite the fireball back towards the 4th prince. A tracking fireball feels like a video game's first boss fight mechanic. That felt like a risky test run.

I like how the author decided the MC can only use one magic spell then immediately realized that would be stupid but it was too late to change it. So now Dark Edge which is just manifesting weapons can actually be anything. It can be shields, it can be dispel, whatever the MC needs. Just slap Dark Edge in front of it and there we go.

I know it's just to establish that the rest of his family is utter shit, but I still find it odd that he is allowed out of the tower, even if only to act as a mobile target.

Also he should have grown a little, unless the setting includes a longer adolescent phase for elven and halfelven children.

From the world view it is odd that he can only use the weakest of the normal magic, Dark Edge, but if that is actually his unique magic then that might mean he can't use any of the normal magic. I wonder if it is relatively normal in this world to not be able to use normal magic (probably not within nobility) making it less strange than him only being able to use the weakest spell.
