His kingdom in general hasn't really been all that strong to begin with, he's just strengthening his forces using knowledge of his world much like he did with the other parts of his governance. He isn't going out of his way to start anything but prepared if something does happen, he has been saying for awhile that once the demon problem ends the world won't really have that common enemy anymore so of course he'll have to start worrying about other nations. But you are right his thinking leagues ahead of the current world leaders as far as we know, for someone who self-prolaimed not to be all that good at his job he on his way to go down as this world greats king lol.

Chapter 43, when all this tech was introduced they also showed the "Mechadra" (armored dragon skeleton). I'll give it a 90% chance for that to be the next big trump card after the carrier.

They already shut that down ages ago. It's far to great a risk due to the fact one of the major powers & a major religion on the continent view dragons as sacred. It would be the same as someone digging up your Great-Grandma and putting puppet strings on her skeleton. MC made it very clear they weren't doing that and likely were going to try returning the bones to them when they could.

According to the JNC group page, it's an initiative by the Mangadex crew, JNC have no knowledge of it. I ended up just blocking them given that I don't need a bajillion updates on the first chapters of manga I'm already deep into; that's just spam.

Lol, Japan just launched a new carrier July 2022. The Type-003 Fujian. It's pretty impressive. They also have the JS Izumo and Kaga, which are conversions

If its main function is to carry the wyvern troops, it might not be that useful to go near the shores. It would allow the wyverns to attack an unexpected place from an unexpected direction and then disappear again, since normally the victim of the attack wouldn't expect wyverns to head toward an empty sea when withdrawing.

agreed. based on the tech he has develop for the wyvern booster (to lazy to remember the things name), they gonna employ waves of bombing runs first to soften the resistance, then paratroopers(or was it dragtroopers) drops to capture key/strategic points. those booster also prevents the wyverns from being pursuit with how fast they are and in previous part, the wyverns has more endurance for long periods of flight time when compared with gryphons.

my only wish if they could make those homing ballista turret a mobile version specifically with an explosive arrowhead so that those wyverns could carry one each (4-8atleast) for a dogfight 😂. or maybe they already developed and used it in earlier chapter but im forgot bout them already.

now if only King Souma could make a mecha corp, possibly headed by a certain silver haired maniac boy

On paper JSDF doesn't had any Carrier, but they circumnavigate it by classifying their Carrier by naming them Helicopter Carrying Destroyer or DDH, just like how Soviet classify their Aircraft Carrier (Admiral Kuznetsov) with CAV rather than CV like US or British.
