@Bearil Kinda glossing over how his next statment is how important it is to find balance.

Damn, really sucks what happens to Georg. I wish we got to see more of that alternate timeline.

It irks me when the Japanese teenager is the expert on the biome someone else has spent generations in and they're know-nothings. (Very mixed feelings about this story as a whole) I don't recall him having a single situation where he didn't know what to do right away, and then his instructions immediately led it in a positive direction to fixing it.

I don't about Japan's school curriculum, but the stuff Soma's suggested thus far are things I learned in middle school. The world he's in is under-developed to the point where simple advancements have darastic improvements. As for knowledge of the world, he's been asking everyone around him about the history, topography and culture of the various countries and it's been a while since he's been summoned so it's not completely outlandish for him to know about these things.

@shahzehan It's not usually individual topics that bother me in this regard, moreso how it's like he can do no wrong. (Generally I feel like ruling is treated as being relatively simplistic in many of stories)

True. But this story is already leagues ahead of many other isekai in terms of the protagonist, characterisation and world building that I tend to not let the issues it has bother me. I'd rather spend my time reading through the manga, and then the novel, since this is one of the rare few isekai that hasn't had me rolling my eyes every other page.

MC blaming himself for something he could not prevent, well, at least we know he's a pretty nice person in general

@Bearil Well... It's kind of our fault that's like that so yeah XD

@shahzehan Yeah, specially for this manga since, as you said, is leagues ahead of many other isekais

The main issue is the tree's long life, no one would think to cut down a 10000 year old tree because it's always been there, basically they are right at the point where a generation of ancient trees are dying of old age.

@Reshfan "+500 Karma is ridiculous because people feel like they must do everything in their power help others, like seriously, you're not God, stop blaming yourself and trying to reach an unreachable ground and do what's in your power"

That line probably describes best what we're both feeling

Fact of the matter is, we could make our planet completely incapable of supporting us in particular anymore with all of the damage we're doing, but the world would kind of just keep on keeping on without us. Other species might even adapt enough to thrive in the new conditions we left behind at that point. Even if no species of any sort is surviving on the planet, at that point that's just the new normal. Nature doesn't need anything at all from us, and even its own state is completely irrelevant.

We're the ones that need things it can provide us in its current state though, so that's why we get the

part of the things. That only matters to us. Even other creatures on the planet would likely just roll with the punches if we don't kill them all off with us.
