Tbh, Hiroyuki deserves this grand celebration, it’s been a fair few chapters and some ups and downs but has fast become one of, if not, my favourite mangas.

If the author ever sees this, mad respect 💕

The Hajime no Ippo art surprised me lol. Aka Akasaka is cultured choosing Shino of course. Was hoping for something from Mengo. Enjoyed the lineup of artists though.

I still can't forgive the Japenis for not having Shino in rank 1 at the popularity poll. And surprisingly Mirika was really popular, I mean I kinda understand why, but I didn't think it would be to this extent

A beautiful send-off... I'm happy that Negi picked Nagisa. Not sure what that Hajime no Ippo author illustration was supposed to mean. Loved the cheongsams and bunny outfits.

Also, unless the people saying that the ending was "rushed" cite some solid evidence that was the case (did I miss something?), I'm going to not believe it. I'd rather just think Hiroyuki chose to wrap it up rather than continuing it for more arcs, albeit I'm sure the strain of weekly serialization was a factor. But I do think that, say, Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to had a more satisfyingly drawn-out conclusion than his weekly serializations. I wonder if there's any chance Hiroyuki could, say, do a 60-page monthly series next.

I get that it’s not the point, and would be distracting to further explore, but I feel the stupid need to mention that I wish we knew how much slizz Saki gets.
no way to fit it into the story more,
we got some queerness, which is plenty. though I wish she’d been a bit less… aggro on Mirika. Just a bit.
Left her panting on the floor, which is made at least a bit less hot by ummm… coming on a bit strong, let’s say. Funny how much intense top energy she has with girls but is so timid with her bf.

My hope is… yes.

I mean, everyone but Naoya was like “yup. This is what she’s like 😌“ as she’s fondling the newest addition, in the nude.

I get that it would have created a much more complicated and very different story if her queerness had been more at the fore instead of VERY heavily implied. I’m fine with that.

I do hope that the author drops something on his pixiv or Twitter or something someday

I have a lot of thoughts on this ending, most of them leaning towards negative but I cannot deny that the author pushed through and, while VERY unsatisfying, did give us an ending with the events we knew was coming. There is so much more opportunity here but like I said not gonna go down that road. I am just going to say, thank you, Author. This is one of a few series that I cared deeply enough to follow from anime to manga and follow it all the way to it's ending. I really hope you can come back to this series later but I understand you wore yourself out to give us what you did.

The afterword(comic) really drives the point that Hiroyuki was really on the ropes with this series. Explains how the ending was written.

Weeks after reading the ending, I’d still say it could be better, yes, but thinking back at least it’s all wrapped up somehow with confessions and commitments from all the characters. He called it quits before the comedy well truly dried up. Hope his next series will be even better, whenever that is.

Maybe if the anime gets this far maybe it will somehow go past the manga (I highly doubt that since I don't think any anime has done that.) and we could have more content or at least a better feeling ending.
