And like, even if that wasn't the case, but everyone else discriminated her, what's the point in breaking her heart to "save her from pain" when you'll do just the opposite.
Wanting your loved ones to have a happy life without difficulties is a very understandable goal, but I think she's long forgotten what happiness even feels like, so her judgment is very poor at best.

I think so far the mother's redemption has been a bumpy ride, but ig you could say there has been some progress.
At least she's getting emotional about it now instead of just coldly and straight up ignoring the whole topic and discussion.
I just hope they don't guilt trip everyone into magically forgiving her now...

It makes sense why the mother thinks this way idk if this is some cultural difference shit but as someone who came from a place where there’s a lot of cultures like this I find it unsurprising. And I can fully understand why the mother thinks this way
