The manga is getting better, however, I'm still not a fan of how it was initially set up and how it attempts to just lampshade it. This is the thing that irks me the most:

You cannot force kindness from someone. If you try to yank out kindness from someone when they are not initially willing/ you put them on the spot to do so, you end up looking like a massive dick. Asking MC for lodging with daughter in tow with no message ahead of time is going to (unintentionally) make FMC look really bad.

Here is a VERY exaggerated example but I think it will drive the point home:
A situation where Person A (upon hearing of person's B plight) willing gives up one of their kidney's to save person's B's life

VS

A situation where person B shows up outta the blue and says to person A, "Give me your kidney because I knew you 20 years ago and I'm gonna die without it"

Its the difference between me going "Oh, how sweet" vs "BRO WTF??"

It does not feel longer than 5 chapters. Go read it through. It's a light, breezy read with few words and a soft tone. It's literally 12 pages, man. This is not a dense manga.

The discussion here feels longer than 5 chapters, because people have dug deep to try and justify their bizarre reaction with anything other than self-reflection. They're not weird, with pretty clear issues just boiling under the surface, no. It's this manga. This 12 page manga hasn't given us enough information. It's everyone else, they're just too sheltered or cucked to get why my instinctual reaction to a man letting a woman and her child move in with him when they have nowhere else to go is "THAT FUCKING WHORE" instead of their "oh, how cute."

Yes, I agree. At least up until now it's written as if she didn't even bother to keep in touch for 17 years until she actually needed something from him. It makes her look really bad, and the author is going to have to make some pretty good arguments to change the reader's mind about her.
