Scale of the series kinda jump a little bit, but it's tolerable enough seeing that MC and party (Game junkie) power leveling and spamming dungeon every single week during their 2 years in the Academy, dungeon monster also seems relatively stronger than demon army here except for some demon army high ranking officer.

But it's good though no need to extend academy arc any longer, many similar manga making this mistake by prolonging boring school arc by introducing cringe and unnecessary troupe like cocky and arrogant noble berating commoner and then mc beat their ass, or something like that, and also classmate are nice and all that despite MC and his village friend are commoner, then again the circumstances are wildly different since the academy here basically a military academy, when after you graduate you expect to be thrown to the frontline to die or survive if you strong enough.

Also the school arc is really minimum here, because MC and party are focusing on power leveling, and hunting for treasures and resource stockpiling needed for war.

I am very confused about the 3 million demons. They killed 40k of them, and somehow it was enough to matter? And the other 4 cities had 3k each, with a total of 120k? Where did the 120k come from? The 3 million, or was it just part from the rounding errors?
yes, you got it. Basically they level into their next class (mage -> archmage, axe ->gladiator or something like this). Keep all their skill and stats, which is kinda fuck cause the elemental king said they are max at 4 star, which mean his party is gonna be 1 level bellow the hero
I don't think they keep the stats. Just the sword skill (which either means player skill, or it means the Skill skills)

3 million are the whole demon army that invaded. Meanwhile elves need to deal with a total of 120k army, that spread to 4 cities, plus the one that hold their capital city.

and the stats buff they get.

They were surprisingly chill with the news that their best friend was almost the demon king and is from another world and several times their age (and at least one of the girls see him romantically). I mean the author tried to have them freaking out, but being told all of that at once their reactions still feel underwhelming. Like the idea that he wanted to be demon king alone should have shook relationships and put into question his trustworthiness and their friendships.

Also I'm getting God of War vibes from that squirrel...

Ok my brain doesn't understand what the rank ascension and the roles mean? I'm using Call of Duty as a reference since this is the best I got; every time they reach the max then just go prestige to redo everything while keeping their skills & stuff? Thank you for whoever clarifies this for me & thanks for the chapter.
Party members upon reaching max level can increase from 1 star swordsman -> 2 star swordsman. Upon doing so they lose their stats and anything they gained from leveling but keep things like swordsmanship level. For example, if they got the throwing skill up to level 5 by throwing weapons 50000 times or whatever, that will not be reset. They can't keep getting the same skills over and over again, they just get an opportunity to eventually reach a job like Kurena's 5 star sword saint with its ridiculous stats/bonuses (which at level 1 could beat that 2 star swordsman early on who was probably level 15 or so).
Edit: I forget when they actually take advantage of it since resetting stats in the middle of a war wouldn't exactly be ideal and I think this arc lasts a while

All this, and I'll say that the delivery of the negotiation was done better than the LN. Allen really just info-dumped that hard in a single conversation.

Whatever happened to him realizing he could summon his teammates? we just chalking that one up to being retconned out without being said or seeing it being retconned out?

Remind me what you mean by summoning his teammates? You mean having them teleport to him? If so, can you please refresh my memory of when he first did that. I could be mistaken, but SPOILER: he does not get to instantaneously transport his teammates until his Bird summon reaches A-rank, which allows the Bird to establish "nests" that it can teleport back and forth to.

School arcs can be interesting, but that depends entirely on the character interactions. However, most of the time those stories just peter out there, while what's going on here seems more like actually moving into a proper final arc of the manga, which is entirely missing in 95% of all similar manga.

I think that one, they already know he's way out there in terms of what they know to expect from him, and two, it's more that they're already overwhelmed by everything going on so they don't have much in them to freak out about it.

The MC revealing all his cards and getting a prestige for his team is wild. But doing it in the middle of a war is even wilder. Them keeping their stats though definitely makes that better!
