His blood "corrupted" the holy sword, and I think that there was this theory that down the line it disabled their magic items. Only his villagers new the true reason thanks to their superior education and blood connection. Same with how they discovered true powers of the sword. Elysium mages were kinda stupid but were riding on powerful magic/artifacts.
That said, I'm still hoping that the mage and her golem are Alicias parents that infiltrated the cult. Trying to summon dead priests ghosts just to seal/kill them permanently. I mean, it's not like I'm hoping that the guy became a Gundam Golem.

Just because the idea sounds crack yet amusing to me, I'd love the twist to be that the current elysium group are actually some kind of Nosferatu worshippers who 'converted' after seeing the power of Alice's mom/dad.

The grey light might be magic drain ability (since she mentioned the other mages don't have enough mana) and their biggest desire is to 'revive' Nosferatu.

Which should make for a rather hilarious scene the moment she learn/realize Yuuki is Nosferatu and goes full simp.

The beam is indeed magic absorbing one.

The golem basically drains HP/MP of the driver to run, meaning they'll die pretty soon after (the one inside it right now is likely under some kind of mind control magic)
So the plan of resurrecting ghost priests is to have them take over bodies and control the golem, cuz dead priests don't care about the body dying.

Yuuki's magics don't work between the golem's anti-magic armor and the s u c c.
So he used the chekov's gun: summoning the holy sword he hacked before (remember during the test to see who become Iris's escort?)

After he defeat the golem the mage is easily subdued, so Yuuki get to asking about the past.
Alas the only bits that get revealed before chapter end is
The "traitor sage" Dorothea speak of is....Lyle...Alice's dad (so the couple executed their betrayal at the 8 crown/king war)

I'd honestly love it if that happened, because it sounds stupid and funny and, to be frank, right up this series' alley.

I mean, the princess is his friends' daughter reincarnated, the biggest trading company was established to be a safe haven for him, and his greatest enemies conveniently "died out" during the time he was dead, presumably killed by Alice's parents.

Considering the state of the magic guild trackers, it could be possible that she turned herself into a pseudo-vampire using remnants of the MC's blood, either from the sword or saved as a trophy after he was killed. It would explain why she was able to wipe the blood off, she used her own blood magic to do it.

I'm not that surprised if the people he cared for avenged him that hard. He definitely fostered some talent there, he had the hero under him. They could have raised their bloodline to crush them.

Well, only if his "ideales" got misinterpreted or twisted, because those priests actions are quite violent and dangerous! Beside we would lose the antagonist! Probably it's not all black and white, taking into consideration the mage guild having (probably) individuals with less then noble goals! But still, imo, the Elysium Priests are the main villains!
The only other option is for someone else, to impersonate them, since they already had a notorious reputation and could be used as scapegoats

anti-magic shell is itself magic, so a stronger magic, like a magic eater spell, would consume it nonetheless. sorta like how "Darkness" spells counter and nullify "Light" spells of the same or lower tiers, and vice versa, in D&D.
